This Sangiovese comes from a single vineyard wine in Langhorne Creek. Deep, brick-red colour, with savoury aromas showing hints of old leather and some spiciness. A very harmonious, beautifully balanced palate showing the same savoury meat and leather characters, with very long and lingering flavours. The fine-grained tannins right across the length and breadth of the palate provide a cleansing style to the wine with a nice finish. (6 x 75 cl)

The Bremerton story began in 1985 when Craig and Mignonne Willson purchased the property and established a long term restoration and development plan. The winery was established in 1988 and now has 110 acres planted at LanghorneCreek and is joint owner and manager of another 180 acres from which it selects the best fruit each year for its wines. The winemaking team headed by family member and winemaker Rebecca Willson has taken the quality of the wines to new standards. Rebecca seeks the best possible fruit from the Bremerton Estate and other specialised LanghorneCreek vineyards to craft traditional, full bodied, full flavoured, mouth filling LanghorneCreek wines that show a consistency of style whilst encouraging the true varietal grape characteristics to be expressed. Matilda Plains provides a modern, unique, and delicious range of wines. The distinctive label features the Willson family's much loved border collie Matilda helping in the vineyard. Matilda Plains Winery is located in LanghorneCreek, South Australia where grapes have been traditionally grown for over 100 years. This Sauvignon Blanc has been made from fruit grown in LanghorneCreek as well as fruit from the neighbouring Currency Creek region and has captured the true characteristics of this aromatic variety. Once the harvest is comple the grapes are crushed and the free run juice was drained, cooled and allowed to settle. The juice was then racked off lees and inoculated with yeast for a long, cool ferment. Following fermentation, the wine was filtered and bottled with no oak influence. A pale yellow coloured zesty Sauvignon Blanc it is fresh with fruity aromas. A balanced but lively palate this wine is displaying a hint of apple and citrus fruits with good acid structure and a crisp refreshing finish. (12 x 75 cl) Price: £87.26

While the 1961 vintage of Metala was the first wine to win the Jimmy Watson Trophy at the Melbourne Wine Show. Since its inception the wine has always been a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz and this much-loved wine is a dense, dark colour with intense plum, cherry and blackcurrant fruit character, supported by the hints of eucalyptus and licorice that are typical of the LanghorneCreek region. This wine is a blend of 44% Shiraz, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Merlot. It was fermented in open top fermenters allowing maximum extraction of colour and flavour. The wine was then matured in American oak for 12 months prior to blending and bottling. This wine is a deep opaque purple colour with aromas of dark forrest fruits as well as hints of earth, chocolate and mocha.
