Description: Straw yellow in colour, the Terre Alte from Livio Felluga is complex on the nose, with flowery aromas from the Sauvignon mixing with sweet fruit notes of candied peel and of acacia honey from the Pinot Bianco. On the palate the wine has great balance, being full-bodied but with enough acidity for a fresh, clean finish First produced in 1981, Terre Alte is perhaps Livio Felluga’s most famous wine, and is considered one of Italy’s greatest whites. Livio Felluga Pinot Grigio Fruili Venezia Giulia
Description: Livio Felluga Pinot Grigio is light straw in colour with coppery highlights reflecting the brief period of skin contact. It is full and open on the nose, with perfumes of orange blossom and wild roses. On the palate it has good depth, with tight, restrained flavours of peach and apricot, liquorice and white pepper. It finishes long, dry, clean and fresh. The Pinot Grigio grapes were de-stemmed, without crushing the berries, and then macerated briefly on the skins before a gentle pressing. Fermentation took place between 17-19° C in temperature controlled tanks. Recently revitalised by Livio’s four children , the estate is now well on the way to reclaiming its rightful place among the great producers in Italy. Malvasia Istriana is made from vines up to 35-years-old located in Gradiscutta. 50% of the must is fermented in oak barrels called 'Holbar' and aged for at least eight months. The other 50% is stainless steel vinification. After extraction from the barrels, the two parts are assembled in a tank and remain there for almost one year. This wine has been made with great care from the vineyard to the winery to deliver an attractive straw yellow coloured wine with greenish tints, an extremely aromatic bouquet of vanilla, green pepper and sambuca.
