Livio and Giorgio Marega Chardonnay Collio DOC
Description: Started in 1905 by the estate's great-grandfather Ludvik Cresevec who bought 2ha in San Floriano the estate has passed down the generations and grown to its current size of 13.5ha . The vineyard plots are scattered throughout the locality: in Cero on the Slovenian border, Gradiscutta and Blanchis as well as San Floriano. The agriculture is organic with minimal treatments. The traditional Collio style is the focus of Livio and Giorgio Marega, with their challenge to get back to traditional methods in vinification, using the traditional barrels of two and five hectolitres, called "Holbar". These barrels were made of acacia, which give white wines great finesse and intense bouquet and elegant sweet tannins. (6 x 75 cl)

Livio Felluga Pinot Grigio Fruili Venezia Giulia
Description: Livio Felluga Pinot Grigio is light straw in colour with coppery highlights reflecting the brief period of skin contact. It is full and open on the nose, with perfumes of orange blossom and wild roses. On the palate it has good depth, with tight, restrained flavours of peach and apricot, liquorice and white pepper. It finishes long, dry, clean and fresh. The Pinot Grigio grapes were de-stemmed, without crushing the berries, and then macerated briefly on the skins before a gentle pressing. Fermentation took place between 17-19° C in temperature controlled tanks. Recently revitalised by Livio’s four children , the estate is now well on the way to reclaiming its rightful place among the great producers in Italy. The energy injected into the estate by the younger generation has been harnessed by consultant viticulturalist/winemaker Stefano Chioccioli. As a result of their combined work, the whites have acquired more intense and focused flavours, while the reds have a ripeness and suppleness that is seldom achieved in Friuli. (6 x 75 cl)

Livio Felluga SHARJS Fruili Venezia Giulia
Description: The Shàrjs is a blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% barrel fermented Ribolla Gialla. Its delicate perfume of white peaches gives way to a rich yet elegant fruit on the palate that finishes long. It is one of the most interesting Italian white wines on our list, the creaminess of the Chardonnay balancing nicely with the aromatics and raciness of the Ribolla. Livio Felluga was one of the great names of Italian wine. Recently revitalised by his two sons, Andrea and Maurizio, this 139 hectare estate is now well on the way to reclaiming its rightful place among the great producers in Italy. As a result of their work, the whites have acquired more intense and focussed flavours, while the reds have a ripeness and suppleness that is seldom achieved in Friuli. Malvasia Istriana is made from vines up to 35-years-old located in Gradiscutta. 50% of the must is fermented in oak barrels called 'Holbar' and aged for at least eight months. The other 50% is stainless steel vinification. After extraction from the barrels, the two parts are assembled in a tank and remain there for almost one year.
