Fairview SauvignonBlanc Malmesbury RSA
Description: The grapes used in the wine are from an old block of unirrigated bush-vines in Malmesbury. The yield was extremely low, and the fruit very good quality. Here te SauvignonBlanc grapes were harvested in stages to achieve a crisper varietally true Sauvignon, with a full mid-palate, then in the winery destemmed, crushed and held in the drainer overnight. The juice was then cold fermented, and left on its lees for 5 months before bottling. This has produced a pale straw coloured wine showing an intense gooseberry and nettlea nose. The palate combines the good varietal flavours with a long enjoyable finish. (12 x 75 cl) Price: £93.73

Beringer STONE CELLARS SauvignonBlanc California
Description: When making the Stone Cellars SauvignonBlanc, Winemaker Mary Sullivan focused on retaining the bright crisp fruit flavors of SauvignonBlanc and highlighting the wine with subtle undertones of toasty vanilla and rich creamy peaches. In the final blend, Mary chose to complement the green apple and crisp citrus of the SauvignonBlanc with approximately nine-percent Semillon for depth, complexity, and fullness with slight amounts of Gewürztraminer for a floral and spice notes and Chenin Blanc for a peachy softness. To round out the flavors with toasty, spice nuances, she barrel fermented a portion of the wine in French and American oak barrels for approximately two months. (12 x 75 cl) Price: £81.78

Jackson Wine Estates STONESTREET SauvignonBlanc Alexander Valley
Description: J. Stonestreet & Sons Vineyard & Winery began in the autumn of 1989 when Jess Jackson purchased a small vineyard and winery in the rolling hills bordering southern Alexander Valley. He named the winery in honor of his late father, Jess Stonestreet Jackson, and dedicated it to the task of handcrafting wines using traditional methods while showcasing modern techniques. Stonestreet quickly garnered international acclaim for powerful red and luscious white wines. Following this early success, Jess Jackson acquired the nearby Alexander Mountain Estate in 1995 and focused Stonestreet on mountain wines, particularly the Bordeaux varietals of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, in addition to small amounts of Chardonnay and SauvignonBlanc from older vineyards on the mountain. The Upper Barn name comes from its historical use as the place where horses were changed when crossing over Alexander Mountain Estate and the Mayacamas Mountains and at 1,800 feet above sea level, the vineyard is an impressive site. With its dramatic views, shallow gravelly soils and cool climate, this seven-acre vineyard consistently produces low yields of intense, mineral-laden SauvignonBlanc. Grapes for the Upper Barn SauvignonBlanc were harvested with flavours of grapefruit and ripe melon. After pressing, the juice was barrel fermented to add spicy oak characteristics and a lush palate. This wine did not receive malolactic fermentation or stirring of lees. Crisp fruit flavours of ripe melon, fig, lemon and grapefruit complemet the medium to full-bodied style of this well made SauvignonBlanc. (6 x 75 cl) Price: £103.40
