A Mano Rosato di Puglia
Description: Mark Shannon and Elvezia Sbalchiero, the duo behind Puglia's A Mano, have worked in the wine business for most of their lives. Elvezia is a northern Italian wine-marketing expert and Mark is Californian winemaker. They fell in love with Puglia, and when they decided to start their own brand, made it their home. Puglia has always been known for its Rosati so it was no surprise when Mark and Elvezia turned their attention to this style. The Rose is dry and perfumed, with more zip and freshness than most southern Italian rosati. Mark strikes a delicious balance between a muscular and textured style made from this classic southern grape variety (12 x 75 cl)

Promessa Rosso Salento IGT
Description: A blend of 45% Primitivo, 45% Negroamaro and 10% Malvasia Nera, is supple and juicy, conveying in a glass the instant warmth of Salento. The Rosso Salento has good colour and a chunky fruit with notes of plum and raspberry. Following cool fermentation to preserve and enhance the fruit flavours, the wine is matured in French oak to give a subtle spicy oak character together with a measure of complexity and elegance on the palate. The Promessa wines are created by Mark Shannon and Elvezia Sbalchiero, the duo behind A Mano. They have both worked in the wine business for most of their lives. A Mano PRIMA MANO Primitivo di Puglia
Description: It has supple tannins, a touch of cedariness and combines power and elegance in a most striking manner. A Mano Primitivo was first made in 1998. Mark Shannon and Elvezia Sbalchiero, the duo behind A Mano, have worked in the wine business for most of their lives. Elvezia is a northern Italian winemarketing expert and Mark is a Californian winemaker. They knew right from the start that they wanted their wine to be a concentrated, dark coloured, full-bodied wine made from Primitivo. A Mano comes from the heart of the Primitivo area, in the low hills east of Taranto in Puglia. The region is an old sea-bed, full of fossilised clams, oysters and sea-urchins. The altitude here is approximately 30-60 metres above sea level and annual rainfall is 35 cms. Puglia is a pensinsula between the Adriatic and Ionian seas so the climate is classically Mediterranean. The Primitivo vines are quite old; most are the original plantings after phylloxera and range from 70-100 years old. As with most vineyards planted at that time they are small bush vines, called “alberello” and are non-irrigated. The average Primitivo vineyard is quite small, less than half a hectare. The grapes are hand-picked. (6 x 75 cl)

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars HAWK CREST Cabernet Sauvignon California
Description: Hawk Crest is the companion brand or 'house wine' of Stag's Leap Wine Cellars. Representing fine quality Hawk Crest wines have been handcrafted by the Winiarski family in the Napa Valley since 1974. Hawk Crest winemaker Mark Smith draws on two distinct areas in California to craft this approachable yet well structured Cabernet Sauvignon. The climate and diverse soils of Paso Robles in California’s Central Coast provide bright red berry fruit, while the high altitude and volcanic soils of the Red Hills district in Lake County give the wine structure and depth. Additionally, small percentages of Merlot, for texture and mouthfeel, and Petit Verdot, for mid-palate grip and intensity, were also added. The wine was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels for added complexity and polish. An outstanding first impression with its vibrant ruby colour and distinctive aromas of black cherry, spice, black pepper and tobacco. This gives way to Silky tannins and dark cherry flavours that stand out against a backdrop of spicy notes and hints of vanilla. Perfectly balanced with a soft entry, well-integrated oak and a long, rich finish. (12 x 75 cl)

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars HAWK CREST Merlot California
Description: Hawk Crest is the companion brand or 'house wine' of Stag's Leap Wine Cellars. Representing fine quality Hawk Crest wines have been handcrafted by the Winiarski family in the Napa Valley since 1974. Hawk Crest winemaker Mark Smith balances richly flavoured fruit from the central part of Paso Robles in San Luis Obispo County with grapes from the Red Hills district of Lake County, which lies just north of the Napa Valley and is increasingly recognized as a wine area in its own right. The Lake County fruit contributes grip and structure to the blend, balancing the rich Paso Robles fruit and creating a wine that is accessible and full of character. The wine was aged for 9 months in French oak barrels, which provided complexity and hints of vanilla to support the wine’s wealth of fruit flavours. Hawk Crest consistently delivers distinctive, balanced and approachable wines that are ready to enjoy upon release and will continue to improve with age. This Merlot displays great dimension in the nose with aromas of blueberry, ripe plum and black cherry accented by hints of violet, anise, pepper and dark chocolate. On the palate, upfront flavours of black cherry, plum and dark berries mix with medium soft tannins, sweet vanilla and well-integrated oak. A rich, silky texture and long, lingering finish are the final rewards. (12 x 75 cl)
