Description: Château Meyney is located in St.Estèphe and is owned by Dmes. Cordier. The 49 ha property produces on average 30,000 cases per year. Located in the east of the St.Estèphe appellation, next to Château Montrose, Meyney has a similar climate to that enjoyed by the Médoc: maritime, with the Gironde estuary and the Bay of Biscay combining to act as a climate regulator and the coastal pine forests sheltering the vines from the westerly and north-westerly winds. Meyney's vineyards lie on clay-gravel soils. Vinification includes 15 months' wood ageing, 30% new oak. (12 x 75 cl) Price: £294.32

Description: Overlooking the Gironde estuary this wine is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc. One of the oldest estates in the Médoc. In 1662 it was a convent which the archives refer to as the Convent des Feuilles or the Pricure des Couleys. Today the estate stretches over a series of hillocks and the nearness of the river, flowing so close to the first rows of vines, gives the landscape a majestic air. The estate belonged to the same family for several generations, until Mr. Daniel Cordier became the owner in 1919, and still remains under Domaines Cordier today. The wine is fermented in glass lined vats and Clarified with egg whites. The wine is aged in large oak casks for the first year and barrel aged the second year. A big wine with good fruit and excellent aging potential. A thick, delicious wine that is rich with berry, vanilla, and meat Aromas of wet earth, mineral and stone. Very pleasant to taste.
