Description: This Saussignac is sourced from the oldest vines on the estate and utilises botrytis in a portion of the selected parcels, with up to 4 'tries' or passes of the pickers in order to hand select the appropriate grapes from each bunch. The cepage for the 1998 vintage is 70% Semillon, 15% Muscadelle and 15% Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyard is planted on clay and calcareous hillsides and provides an average yield of 15 hectolitres per hectare, harvesting is always by hand and the wine is matured in barrique for 12-18 months. This is a blend of 70% Semillon, 15% Muscadelle and 15% Sauvignon Blanc with a rich and honeyed nose with floral and slight apricot aromas. The same dedicated intensity of apricots and honey can be found on the palate, which boasts a sensual, silky texture and very fine balance. Whie the wine finishes with a distinguished, citrussy fresh length. There are only between 2000 and 4000 bottles made every year, entirely dependant upon the vintage and is available only in limited quantities. Available in 50 cl Bottles. (6 x 50 cl) Price: £117.16
