Description:
The style selected for the Patricia Shiraz was to show intense, dense, round, supple and ripe fruit flavours balanced with integrated oak flavours. American oak was chosen as it complements the berry and spice flavours of these Shiraz grapes. The wine was barrel fermented for added flavour complexity. Intensity and elegance are hallmarks of this wine. The palate has concentrated fruit, great length and a fine-grained tannin finish. The Patricia name is a dedication to our matriarch, Patricia Brown, for the love and hard work that she gave the family for more than 60 years. Her contribution has been fundamental in making Brown Brothers the success it is today. To truly honour Patricia's hard work and dedication, the wines have been cared for and nurtured from the vineyard to the bottle with total commitment for the wine, reflected in the viticulture and winemaking techniques. Brown Brothers PATRICIA Cabernet Sauvignon King Valley Victoria
Description: This wine presents a saturated, red black colour with enormous richness and concentration. The nose demonstrates ripe characters of red currants and cassis combined with the subtleties of a wine handled with French oak. The palate is concentrated and rich with good length of flavour and well structured acid and firm tannins. The Patricia Cabernet Sauvignon has flavour intensity and fine tannin structure. Full physiological grape ripeness of this outstanding vintage season has highlighted varietal berry and cassis characters. French oak was used for its contribution to the tannin profile of the wine, and its subtle wood complexity. The Patricia Cabernet continues the success of two King Valley vineyards with 36% from Politini and 15% Ray vineyard fruit. Another outstanding vineyard site in North East Victoria is the Gentle Annie vineyard in the Dookie Hills, which has contributed 28%, providing mid-palate flesh and structure. A small percentage of fruit from the new Serengale vineyard in the Beechworth hills and a dash of Petit Verdot has achieved classic structure and balanced flavours. (6 x 75 cl) Price: £109.38

Brown Brothers PATRICIA Sparkling Wine King Valley Victoria
Description: The wine shows a gentle straw colour with a fine persistent bead achieved from a long, slow secondary fermentation in the bottle under very cool conditions. The nose is lifted and elegant with lovely citrus overtones of lime and granny smith apples. The wine was made in strict adherence to traditional Méthode Champenoise techniques. Each parcel of fruit underwent malo-lactic fermentation before being blended and undergoing its second fermentation in bottle. It spent 5 years maturing on yeast lees after the second fermentation was completed. The palate is creamy and elegant with a crisp, dry finish and refreshing acidity. All fruit for the Patricia Pinot Chardonnay Brut is grown at our high altitude Whitlands vineyard where the climate is ideal for retaining acidity essential for this style of wine. This vineyard is located at 800m above sea level in the sub-alpine area at the top end of the King Valley. The wine is 68% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay and 12% Pinot Meunier. Low phenolic extraction is essential to the style, so the fruit is hand picked and whole bunch pressed in air bag presses. Only the first 500L per tonne is used, to minimise the phenolic content. Dean Hewitson NED & HENRY Shiraz Barossa Valley
Description: The colour of Ned & Henry's Shiraz is deep red with a purple hue. The aroma is distinctively Barossa Valley Shiraz: black and red, ripe fruits with a solid, concentrated core. Matured in only French oak, the fruit is interwoven with pepper, nutmeg and clove. The seamless class of perfectly ripe Shiraz and French oak is a stand-out here. The palate structure of Ned & Henry's delivers in every aspect of the brief. The fruit flavours of Shiraz are full and concentrated yet soft and supple. The tannins are gentle yet persistent and completely mould into the wine. Ned & Henry's Shiraz is most definitely full-bodied: chocolate, blackberry and dark-earth characters. Yet the wine has great balance and poise and carries that signature called 'drinkability'. (12 x 75 cl) Price: £159.47
