This Pinot Grigio has a lovely perfumed nose with a fine flower aroma. The mouth is delicate, very attractive while this full bodied pale yellow wine is dry but very smooth and lightly smoked. Description: The varietal is characterized by buttery, smoky aromas and powerfully intense flavors. The PinotGris Princes Abbés is a lush and concentrated wine with a good natural acidity. Packed with apple and tropical fruit aromas, the wine has vanilla and butter flavors with a creamy texture and a lingering spicy oak finish. The PinotGris, previously called Tokay d'Alsace, then Tokay PinotGris, is not related to the Hungarian Tokaji, which comes from the Furmint vine. It is actually a pinot of Burgundian origin known in Alsace since the 17th century. The general name PinotGris is the designated term from now until 2007.The PinotGris is an aromatic wine, sometimes velvety and vigorous, both fresh and rich, it is has good acidity and ages admirably.
