Promessa RossoSalento IGT
Description: A blend of 45% Primitivo, 45% Negroamaro and 10% Malvasia Nera, is supple and juicy, conveying in a glass the instant warmth of Salento. The RossoSalento has good colour and a chunky fruit with notes of plum and raspberry. Following cool fermentation to preserve and enhance the fruit flavours, the wine is matured in French oak to give a subtle spicy oak character together with a measure of complexity and elegance on the palate. The Promessa wines are created by Mark Shannon and Elvezia Sbalchiero, the duo behind A Mano. They have both worked in the wine business for most of their lives. Elvezia is a northern Italian wine-marketing expert and Mark is a Californian winemaker. With Promessa, Mark seeks to capture the pure flavours of Puglia's grapes in the bottle.
