One of the most temperamental grape varieties, Pinot Noir vines thrive in these the cool, windy rolling hills that span the southernmost tip of Napa and Sonoma Valleys, developing small crops of vibrantly flavored fruit. Extremely gentle handling through all phases of winemaking enabled Mondavi to bottle this wine without filtration after 10 months of barrel ageing. This has produced a deep red coloured wine with aromas of black cherry, rose, forest and warm spice complexity that fan out across the palate.
