Description: Domaine du Carrou is the personal estate of Dominique Roger. He represents the younger generation of vignerons keen to combine tradition with modern techniques.The vineyards have a very shallow top soil under which one finds a hard chalky soil, which imparts that subtle floral scent to his wines. Pinot Noir is particularly suited to cooler climates, and is ideal in the marginal climate of Sancerre. Only a small part of the estate is given over to Pinot Noir, and it occupies some of the best elevations and exposure. Grapes are hand harvested in small parcels at various stages of ripeness (6 x 75 cl)

Fermentation is in steel tanks and temperature controlled in order to preserve the varietal flavours of the Sauvignon Blanc grapes. No oak, filtered and fined before bottling. A grassy nose with hints of gooseberries; well balanced palate with a good concentration of fruit and racy acidity. (6 x 75 cl)
