Formerly know as Jigsaw Red this wine has now been re-branded Rosemount Road. From fruit drawn primarily from the Murray River Valley, each batch of grapes are kept separate and a small proportion of wine is oak matured before final blending, takes place. The Shiraz gives hints of exotic spices, the Grenache, lively ripe fruit and a generous texture, while dark plum flavours derive from the Mataro. (12 x 75 cl)

Rosemount Estate Diamond Label Varietal Sangiovese South Australia
Description: The 2003 vintage Rosemount Estate Diamond Varietal Sangiovese was the first bottling of this classic Italian grape and once again this vintages style complements the savoury flavours typical of this varietal. The wine was made to reflect the Tuscany region of Italy, where sangiovese is used to make medium bodied fruity styles known as Chianti. The fruit for this wine was sourced from selected vineyards throughout South Eastern Australia and one third of the parcels were selected to be put through barrel maturation in old oak to enhance depth and complexity. The remainder was fermented with gentle handling techniques of skins and wine to ensure palate softness and integrated tannins. Great care from the vineyard to the winery has produced a deep crimson coloured wine with ruby hues. A complex, intense nose with aromas of stewed plum, bright cherry is further enhanced by notes of spice and meat. A lively palate of sweet, ripe fruit flavours including cherries, plums, and a touch of quince, is complemented by spice notes. Medium bodied, juicy and inviting, the finish is long and stylish. Description: TASTING NOTES A concentrated rich and full wine with flavours of spices, creamy dark fruit and a smoky undertone. The 1999 Shiraz was the Maiden vintage for Uiterwyk Wine Estate, and is the only Shiraz in South Africa made in true Northern Rhône tradition where 5% Viognier is added to develop a softer more fragrant style. IN THE VINEYARD The DeWaal Shiraz is produced from a 25-year-old vineyard grown on gravel and loam soil. This single vineyard only produced 200 cases. IN THE CELLAR The wine received 14 days maceration for optimum extract of flavours and colours from the skins. Maturation for 18 months in 40% new French barriques. (12 x 75 cl)
