Formerly know as Jigsaw Red this wine has now been re-branded Rosemount Road. From fruit drawn primarily from the Murray River Valley, each batch of grapes are kept separate and a small proportion of wine is oak matured before final blending, takes place. The Shiraz gives hints of exotic spices, the Grenache, lively ripe fruit and a generous texture, while dark plum flavours derive from the Mataro. (12 x 75 cl)

Description: If any one wine we produce most exemplifies what Torbreck is, then it is this wine, our ode to the great old vines, planted at the turn of last century, that survived the vine-pull scheme of the 1980s. Thankfully there are still many great vineyards remaining that are planted to Grenache, Mataro and Shiraz , the traditional Barossa varieties. From cuttings brought back from James Busby's 1831-2 trip to France and Spain and planted on their own roots these vineyards are some of the most precious in the world. Share-farming agreements with the Barossa' s best growers has enabled us to gain access to these vineyards among the precious in the world. From there we crush, ferment, gently press and mature the wine in seasoned oak casks for 18 months before bottling without filtration. Most importantly, there are about 45 different parcels of fruit that compose The Steading which are all fermented and matured separately , being brought together only at blending where their individuality is assessed prior to the composition of the final blend. Rosemount Estate Diamond Label Varietal Sangiovese South Australia
Description: The 2003 vintage Rosemount Estate Diamond Varietal Sangiovese was the first bottling of this classic Italian grape and once again this vintages style complements the savoury flavours typical of this varietal. The wine was made to reflect the Tuscany region of Italy, where sangiovese is used to make medium bodied fruity styles known as Chianti. The fruit for this wine was sourced from selected vineyards throughout South Eastern Australia and one third of the parcels were selected to be put through barrel maturation in old oak to enhance depth and complexity. The remainder was fermented with gentle handling techniques of skins and wine to ensure palate softness and integrated tannins. Great care from the vineyard to the winery has produced a deep crimson coloured wine with ruby hues. A complex, intense nose with aromas of stewed plum, bright cherry is further enhanced by notes of spice and meat. A lively palate of sweet, ripe fruit flavours including cherries, plums, and a touch of quince, is complemented by spice notes. Medium bodied, juicy and inviting, the finish is long and stylish.
