Chateau La Conseillante Pomerol
Description: Chateau La Conseillante is located on the highest part of the Pomerol plateau. The soil has a large concentration of clay in the northern part, bordering of Petrus, and clay-gravel soil in the southern part, bordering on Chateau Cheval Blanc. Five generations of the Nicolas family have worked hard to maintain La Conseillante's excellent reputation over the past 126 years. Care is taken to keep yields low and produce perfectly ripe grapes, which are hand picked. Chateau La Conseillante is aged in 100% new oak barrels in great vintages. La Conseillante is full, round, velvety and creamy with all the voluptuous softness of Merlot combined with the finesse of Cabernet Franc, which also contributes a fruity bouquet with hints of truffle. A perfect balance between elegance and power is the hallmark of La Conseillante. Clay-gravel on iron-oxide rich subsoil. "There is round, lush, ripe fruit medium body, exceptional elegance and purity, and a soft, velvety-textured finish. Think of it as liquid charm and silk. Anticipated maturity, 2000-2014." Parker, 89. (12 x 75 cl)

Clos Fourtet Premier Grand Cru Classe Class B St-Emilion
Description: Château Clos Fourtet is a St. Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classé property located just outside the entrance to the town. It is distinguished by its beautiful ivy-covered manor house and some of the most extensive underground cellars in the region. Clos Fourtet has 19 hectares of vineyards planted with Merlot , Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon . The wine is vinified traditionally and is aged in oak barriques for 18 months. It is bottled unfiltered. Clos Fourtet has had several owners over the years and underwent a mini-renaissance under the stewardship of the Lurtons in the latter half of the last century. Pierre Lurton was the winemaker who really established the property`s reputation as one of the finest on the St. Martin plateau. He left to become winemaker at Cheval Blanc and was replaced by Daniel Alard. In January 2001, Clos Fourtet was bought by Paris businessman Phillipe Cuvelier (12 x 75 cl)
