Pierre Dezat has been the exclusive supplier of Sancerre to the Troisgros brothers since the late Jean Troisgros discovered him some thirty years ago. Together with his son Alain, Pierre produces wine in the same superb Dezat family style and perhaps produces the finest Rose. He bottles later than most growers do as most of his land is terre blanche; the wines take longer to come round (24 x 37.5 cl)

Description: Located 6 km from Sancerre and 50 km north/west from the town of Bourges in the village of Sury en Vaux and Saint-Gemmes. This is a family estate, started in 1975 with 5 hectares, there are now 11 hectares split between 10 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc for the white wine and 1 hectare of Pinot Noir for the red wine and rose. Description: Domaine du Carrou is the personal estate of Dominique Roger. He represents the younger generation of vignerons keen to combine tradition with modern techniques.The vineyards have a very shallow top soil under which one finds a hard chalky soil, which imparts that subtle floral scent to his wines. Pinot Noir is particularly suited to cooler climates, and is ideal in the marginal climate of Sancerre. Only a small part of the estate is given over to Pinot Noir, and it occupies some of the best elevations and exposure. Grapes are hand harvested in small parcels at various stages of ripeness (6 x 75 cl)
