Chile's new flagship grape variety, this wine is a beautiful red colour with traces of ruby. The nose abounds with ripe red fruits and shows marvellous intensity. On the palate it is full bodied with smooth tannins, and is given extra complexity and character by several months of oak ageing. The Legado Reserva wines come from the family's own estate in the Maipo Valley. Produced from grapes carefully selected and hand-picked, these wines have good colour, individual personality, great structure, and are concentrated and fruity, expressively representative of each variety. The wines receive 12 months ageing in French oak and production is limited (12 x 75 cl)

Description: Our top-quality and most exclusive wine, the Gran Familia range is the pride of the De Martino family. Only the very best grapes are used in both varieties; Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère. These wines are aged in French oak barrels for 18 months and rested in our private cellars until their release. Both Cabernet Sauvignon 2001 and 2002 were selected Premium Wine of the Year in the prestigious Chilean wine guide, La Guia de Vinos de Chile 2004 and 2005 editions. Grown in our own vineyards in the Maipo Valley, smooth and round on the nose, this complex wine boasts an attractive range of berry, cherry and plum flavours that fill out the mid palate and continue on the finish. Description: Over 20 years ago, the pioneering Norwegian Armador, Dan Odfjell discovered and fell in love with a small corner of the famous Maipo Valley, Chile. Born of rain in Bergen, Norway, he could not resist the attraction of the austral sun in this Virgilian setting. Serendipity would later show that he had found land in Chile's premium red wine producing valley, where vitis vinifera has been cultivated since the 17th century. Here a soothing coastal breeze produces a microclimate conducive to distinct and beautiful wines on the 85 hectares planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carmenere, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. This hand harvested Carmenere has a little Merlot added before being aged for 10 months in new and used American and French Oak. This wine presents a deep red and dark violet color leading to a nose marked with black/green tea notes followed by nice aromas of cranberry, plum and cherry. The end of the nose has a nice touch of well balanced toasted oak with hints of vanilla.
