Ginestet Chateau Gruaud Larose SARGET de GRUAUD LAROSE St-Julien
Description: In 1757, Mr. Gruaud grouped a number of small vineyards together to form one large one, under his name. Eventually a descendant of the first owner took over the property. His name was Larose, and he immediately linked his name to the estate, bought by Mr. Desire Cordier in 1915. Managed under the direction of Mr. Georges Pauly, and owned by the wine group TAILLAN, Gruaud Larose is one of St. Julien's most popular wines. Its large production has a quality that is consistently very high. One of the most continuously successful wines produced in Bordeaux, regardless of vintage. This is the second wine of Chateau de Gruaud Larose and is a blend of 57% Cabernet sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 7% Cabernet franc, 4% Petit verdot and 2% Malbec. With all the characteristics of a great Bordeaux this wine Second Wine of Chateau Gruaud Larose has a beautiful and intense red colour. Expressive and intense on the nose with notes of cedar and cinnamon, the palate is full, mouth-filling and balanced with savoury tannins and long finish. (12 x 75 cl) Price: £349.72

Ginestet Chateau Remparts de Ferriere Margaux
Description: Second wine of Chateau Ferriere, this wine comes from an 8 hectares estate with very deep Garonne gravel soil and it is the Medoc's smallest Cru Classe. Its name comes from a family of Bordeaux doctors, one of whose members was mayor of the town. Unfortunately he was in office during the French Revolution's Reign of Terror, and his stay in prison was a lot longer than it was at the Town Hall! Vinification is in a stainless steel vat with temperature control by thermal pipe while the length of vating is around twenty days. Malolactic fermentation is in barrels using the Traditional method for ageing from 16 months to 18 months with 60% in new oak barrels each year. Fining is in barrel with white of the egg. This wine comes from 35 years old vines and is a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15 % Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. Les Remparts de Ferriere, a Margaux Classed growth, is a harmonious wine, gently oaky, ripe and stylish with a well-balanced and generous palate. (12 x 75 cl) Price: £216.50
