Arlewood Estate Semillon Sauvignon Blanc Margaret River Australia
Description: Arlewood Estate was established in 1988 in the Willyabrup Valley of the Margaret River wine region in Western Australia. The Gosatti family in partnership planted a small vineyard near Cowaramup in 1995, and acquired Arlewood Estate in 1999. In October 2005, The Gosatti Family completed an outright purchase of Arlewood to pursue the vision that is starting to crystalise with the release of some wines worthy of their situation. The total area under vine is 15 hectares and the plantings include 17 year old Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon vines; 11 year old Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Franc; 10 year old Chardonnay, along with newer plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot. This wine is a blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Semillon and all the fruit was sourced from Arlewood Estate vineyard; Willyabrup, Margaret River Appellation. Once in the winery the Sauvignon Blanc was tank fermented, while the Semillon component matured in new French oak barriques for 2 months. Made by Mark Messenger to the Arlewood his aim was to produce a style which delivers all the bright fruit and cleansing freshness that Margaret River is known for, with the added dimension that a barrel fermented portion of the blend delivers. The palate is bright and clear while the lean body and mouthfeel reveal cleansing acidity. Flavours of grapefruit and lime combine with savoury spice through to the enjoyable finish. (12 x 75 cl)

Woody Nook Sauvignon Blanc
Description: An intense varietal nose leads to a delicate and elegant palate. There is good continuation of fruit flavour on the finish, which is fresh and crisp. Enjoy by itself or with seafood, pasta or light meat dishes. Winemaker's Notes All our 2000 whites were picked on the estate in March 2000. The grapes were brought straight to the winery from the vineyard and crushed, pressed and pumped into stainless steel, refrigerated tanks for settling. The clear juice was then racked to the fermenters for alcoholic fermentation. This process took between 10 and 20 days. The wine was then cold stabilized and subjected to a fining procedure. After this the wine was filtered and was ready for bottling in September 2000. With its grassy, gooseberry flavours and the clean, crisp acidity exhibited on the finish, our Sauvignon Blanc 2000 is a splendid partner to any seafood dish or cheese platter. (12 x 75 cl)

Ashbrook Estate Sauvignon Blanc Margaret River Western Australia
Description: A mix of gooseberry, tropical and grass aromas, then a palate with abundant flavour and full-on complexity, counterbalanced by fine acidity on the finish. This sumptuous wine is a great accompaniment for food but has the flavour to stand alone as a bottle to be savoured. You have no doubt tasted the Kiwi Sauv Blancs – well here is an Aussie one that will match them for fruity intensity. The ripe fruit makes this more of a medium/dry wine, packed with fruit flavours but with a clean finish. Ashbrook Estate Winery is owned and operated by two brothers, Brian and Tony Devitt since 1975. It is the very essence of a Margaret River Winery, small out of the way but all about producing high quality varietal wine. All the fruit is estate grown and hand harvested and all winemaking processes including bottling are carried out on site. The white wines are single grape varietals to allow the grape characteristics to shine through. James Halliday Australia’s foremost wine critic rates Ashbrook’s consistently highly with four of their current release wines 90/100 or over. We are very pleased to offering you some great bottles from this multi-award winning Margaret River winery. (12 x 75 cl)

Cullen MARGARET RIVER WHITE Margaret River Western Australia
Description: The fruit for this wine is grown on Cullens own vineyards and it is made predominantly from the traditional Bordeaux blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, and is bottled in a Bordeaux bottle. However, the wine does contain a small amount of Chardonnay and this has added complexity and a touch of richness to the middle palate, without changing the basic structure of the wine. Showing a straw colour with green tinges it has a complex blend of fresh custard apple, lemon and lime aromas. On the palate it is vibrant, rich, round and complex, reflecting the range of varieties in the blend with the Chardonnay providing citric flavours through to the great acid finish. (6 x 75 cl)
