With green straw hues, the wine is finished with a crisp refreshing acidity and is a delicious, easy-drinking summer wine perfectly matched to any alfresco dining. Following fermentation the wine was given a light fining and is filtered prior to bottling. Southbank Estate Pinot Noir Marlborough NZ
Description: TASTING NOTES A complex amalgam of delicate red berries and plum, with the savoury nuances of old leather and earth. Time spent in French oak has also contributed additional toasty complexities to the wine's aroma. A complex mouthful of primary fruit and savoury characters with fine grain tannins providing structure and a silky texture. Will complement well-seasoned white meat as well as most red meat dishes. VINIFICATION Crushed and 100% destemmed, the Pinot Noir fruit was fermented in small open top fermenters following a short cold soak period. Primary fermentation commenced with the addition of cultured yeast selected specifically to enhance the varietal character of Pinot Noir. Regular hand plunging throughout fermentation allowed for gentle extraction of both colour and tannin. Once the fermentation was complete the wine was pressed off skins to barrel to undergo a full malo-lactic fermentation. Following MLF the wine was racked from the settled solids layer and returned to clean barrels to complete the maturation period. MATURATION Aged in new and seasoned French oak for seven months prior to bottling. (6 x 75 cl)

Southbank Estate Syrah Hawke's Bay NZ
Description: TASTING NOTES Contrary to a commonly held perception, Syrah performs best under moderately warm climatic conditions rather than extremely hot conditions. As such it is highly suited to the Hawkes Bay climate. The resulting wines tend to be highly aromatic and flavorsome combining elements of blueberry, blackberry and ground white pepper. These flavours are given lift and sweetness from aging the wine in small French and American barriques. The firm tannin structure enhances the enjoyment of this wine by prolonging the palate length while making it the perfect accompaniment to strongly flavoured, rich, red meat dishes. VINIFICATION The grapes for this Hawkes Bay wine were principally from the Dartmoor Valley. Machine picked in early April and fermented in small open top fermenters, the wine developed intense white pepper notes during fermentation. As with most of Crossroads' red wines, hand plunging and controlled temperatures have produced an aromatic fruity wine with gentle but firm tannins balancing the palate structure. MATURATION The wine was aged for 10 months in a mix of new and seasoned French and American oak, 20% of which was new. (6 x 75 cl)

Beringer STONE CELLARS Sauvignon Blanc California
Description: When making the Stone Cellars Sauvignon Blanc, Winemaker Mary Sullivan focused on retaining the bright crisp fruit flavors of Sauvignon Blanc and highlighting the wine with subtle undertones of toasty vanilla and rich creamy peaches. In the final blend, Mary chose to complement the green apple and crisp citrus of the Sauvignon Blanc with approximately nine-percent Semillon for depth, complexity, and fullness with slight amounts of Gewürztraminer for a floral and spice notes and Chenin Blanc for a peachy softness. To round out the flavors with toasty, spice nuances, she barrel fermented a portion of the wine in French and American oak barrels for approximately two months. (12 x 75 cl)
