Description:
The winery is situated on the beautiful Mont Fleur farm set at the top of a dramatic valley above Stellenbosch, 380 metres up against the Helderberg mountain. Since their first small harvest in 1997, the primary focus for winemaker David Trafford has been to produce classical red wines. This goal has been achieved and demand for de Trafford reds has grown so dramatically that new plantings have become essential. He has also excelled with white grapes and recently won the 2000 Chenin Challenge run by South Africa's WINE Magazine (12 x 75 cl)

Description: TASTING NOTES Attractive deep red colour. Closed, but intense plum, spice, cherry and subtle herb nose. Full palate packed with complex fruit and soft, ripe tannins. Finely textured with a long dry finish. Probably best between 2007 & 2014. Ideal with a variety of strong flavoured meat dish. PRODUCTION Handpicking into 20 kg lugboxes. Destemming and gentle crushing directly into small 2 ton open top fermentation tanks. It seems like just yesterday we encouraged the Wine and Spirit Board to form this entirely new category -Wine from naturally dried grapes- but this is now our seventh year of production and possibly the best yet! TASTING NOTES Attractive deep yellow colour. Complex marzipan, honey, dried apricot and citrus nose.
