La Spinetta BRICCO QUAGLIA Moscato D'Asti Piemonte
Description: The Rivetti family story begins in the 1890s, when Giovanni Rivetti, grandfather of the three Rivetti brothers, Carlo, Bruno and Giorgio, left Piedmont for Argentina. Like many Italians of that time, he dreamed of returning rich and a powerful man, perhaps even one day able to make a great wine in his homeland. He never did, though his son, Giuseppe did. Pin married Lidia, bought vineyards and began to make wine. In 1977 the family took up residence at La Spinetta in Castagnole Lanze and still run the estate today. The perfect summer backyard and patio wine, Moscato d'Asti is 'frizzante', redolent with the heady perfume of Muscat grapes. Its delicate sweetness and low alcohol makes this refreshing to sip on its own or together with various fruits. (6 x 75 cl)

Bava BASS TUBA Moscato d'Asti Piedmont
Description: Tasting Light straw yellow color, with constant strings of fine bubbles. The fragrance is reinforced by the extraordinarily rich natural sugar content, perfectly balanced by the right degree of acidity. Vineyard/TerritoryGrapes cultivated in a single, historic vineyard in Castiglione Tinella. Wine Production The grapes are picked in wicker baskets, pressed and the must is kept at low temperatures. The wine is then bottled immediately after fermentation. We are enchanted by this extroverted, sunny Moscato, which we have called Bass Tuba ever since, back in the nineteen- eighties, we were the first to break with tradition and modernize the image then associated with Asti Spumante. Bottling it in a Bordeaux bottle normally utilized for an important red and a careful selection and reduction of vineyard yields, maniacally scrupulous cellar handling and bottle aging finished the job. Today, Bass Tuba is still a Cru and still provides full satisfaction, even in the new half-bottle format. A key feature is its low alcohol content, making it a wine everyone can drink, perfect for toasts on any occasion. It should always be stored and served well chilled. We are still convinced we have chosen the right instrument for the label, suggesting celebrations and rich band sounds, as distinctive as the aroma of Bava Moscato (12 x 37.5 cl)

Robert Mondavi Moscato D'Oro Napa Valley California
Description: At 90 years of age, Robert Mondavi remains the global emissary for these wine. His vision was to create wines in California that belong in the company of the great wines of the world. Robert Mondavi is known for producing hand-crafted wines of distinct style. Representing the best of California wine growing regions, including the legendary Napa Valley, each of the wines offers unique qualities and characteristics. Robert Mondavi Winery is located in the heart of Napa Valley, California. The first major winery built in Napa Valley in the post-Prohibition era, Robert Mondavi Winery helped establish the foundation for the modern-day California wine business. Its mission-style architecture, with the expansive archway and bell tower designed by Cliff May, has become an enduring landmark that evokes California's winemaking history. The MOndavi Moscato d'Oro is made from the white Muscat Canelli grape which has an intensely perfumed character. There are only limited plantings of the delicate Muscat Canelli grape in Napa Valley and Mondavi selected these grapes entirely from our Wappo Hill Vineyard in the Stags Leap District American Viticulural Area . This region, located on the southeastern flank of Napa Valley, is renowned for its unique volcanic and gravelly loam soils. Mondavi tasted the Muscat Canelli grapes repeatedly in the vineyard to assess flavour development. When the grapes reached optimum maturity, they were immediately hand-harvested. Next the grapes were gently pressed in whole clusters in an enclosed membrane press to capture the grape's delicacy and minimize tannin extraction. Cold-fermentation of the juice took place in stainless steel tanks with a yeast strain selected to accentuate the variety's exotic floral character. Fermentation was stopped by chilling when there was still about 12.5%-unfermented sugar in the wine. This level of sweetness, balanced with crisp acidity, enhances the lush fruit flavours of Mondavi's Moscato d'Oro. Moscato d'Oro has aromatic notes of honeysuckle, ripe peach and citrus that weave through the silky, sweet flavours and crisp finish. (12 x 37.5 cl)
