Description: This red is a blend of Malbec and a little Cabernet Sauvignon . The 10 months in oak adds weight and complexity to this blackfruited, richly concentrated Malbec. A deep dark red coloured wine with purple and violet tinges, it is showing an intense nose, with aromas of ripe plums, cherries, blueberries and dries figs. The floral notes of violets, red roses and liquorice provide this wine with the right touch of elegance, while the wood seems to be well integrated with spices such as vanilla, cinnamon and chocolate. Description: TASTING NOTE The philosophy behind this wine is to combine the sweet, ripe and fruity character of Malbec with the spicy, black fruit flavours of Syrah. The result is a pleasant, sweet, aromatic wine which is highly palatable, with an excellent concentration and body. Grapes are sourced from 12 and 20 year old vineyards in Agrelo, grown at an altitude of 1000m. The grapes are handpicked and then fermented in stainless steel tanks with selected yeast. WINEMAKERS NOTES Following 100% malo-lactic fermentation the wine is blended after the first racking to help marry the varietals. Finally 40% of the wine is aged for 8 months in 50% American and 50% French oak. (12 x 75 cl)
