Bodegas Urbina is a family-owned, single estate winery with 75 Ha. of vineyards. Four generations have been dedicated to the cultivation of their vineyards and organic methods have been adopted. The bodega is situated in Cuzcurrita de Rio Tiron, on the northwestern edge of Rioja and since 1975 the bodega has aged and bottle their own wine in order to retain the special characteristics of a small single estate. 95 % Tempranillo and 5 % Graciano and Mazuelo, this wine is a selection of the very best grapes from vines over 20 years old, that are used for the production of Gran Reserva wines. Released early before reaching the status of Reserva, but having all the qualities of Gran Reserva wines this red is aged during 16 months in oak casks to produce a purple-red colour with Ruby glints. Intense fruity aromas give way to pleasant and complex flavours that deliver through to the long intense aftertaste. (12 x 75 cl)

Description: This GranReserva is a blend of Tempranillo 87%, Graciano 5% and Mazuelo 8%. Selecting the best grape and obtaining the best wine are a painstaking process, because of the necessary demands of quality in the production of these wines, there are years that are not suitable for obtaining a GranReserva. Only in good years are the grape selected for GranReserva. The production process is based on very careful ageing lasing twenty-four months in American and French oak casks, with periodic decanting and serene ageing in bottles, where the wine remains until it reaches it optimum conditions for consumption.
