Colonnara CUPRESE Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore DOC
Description: A bright straw yellow Verdicchio with greenish reflections when young it will develop towards a golden colour with age. Showing a bouquet of intense fruit it has scents of yellow apple, pineapple, yellow plum and almond, while elegant floral notes of acacia and broom are also evident. A well structured wine that is balanced and fresh gives way to final notes of pleasantly bitter sapidity. This is the story of a heart-felt passion for vine cultivation. This is the result of the constant daily effort and dedication of people who have firmly believed in their work for over 40 years. Thanks to the initiative of 19 farmers, Colonnara was founded in Cupramontana in 1959. The ideal microclimate of the sweet hills of the Marches region lead to the cultivation of Verdicchio, which has become the pride of this territory over the centuries. This company has grown over time. Today it has over 190 associates and thanks to the use of innovative technology and the practice of environmentally friendly farming, it has managed to develop a production range that may be singled out among high quality wines. (12 x 75 cl)

Colonnara LYRICUS Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico DOC
Description: Pale straw in colour with green tinges, this wine has a fine scent and taut dryness with a good fruit-acid balance, underlined with a hint of bitter almond. The Colonnara Cooperative in Cupramontana was established in 1959 and has now 183 small growers owning nearly 300 hectares. Apart from a high tech approach to vinification, production is characterised by an effectively “organic” approach to viticulture, using minimal treatments and only natural fertilisers. Verdicchio is unjustly unfashionable in the U.K. At its best, as in Cuprese – a selection from low yielding 20 year old vines – it can be a wine of real personality. The characteristic salty tang of the Verdicchio grape is supported by a positive, ripe, soft texture that develops well with bottle age (12 x 75 cl)

Santa Barbara PIGNOCCO Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC
Description: To the west of The Castle of Barbara, on the top of a hill, surrounded by vineyards and caressed by the mellow sunset light, there was a little church with dazzling white plaster baroques. There by its side stood a towering pine with a rounded mane of foliage, known in local lore as the 'Pignocco'. The vineyards are located close to the Pignocco and the Verdicchio grapes are delicately pressed, ensuring that only the finest of the finest of the must is drawn off. Fermentation is carefully controlled, giving this 'Cru' its characteristic bouquet. It is left to mature through the winter, then bottled to heighten its distinctive aroma. This verdicchio is a delicate straw yellow colour with a distinctive rich bouquet, it has rich round flavours, good balancing acidity culminating in an enjoyable finish. (12 x 75 cl)
