Colonnara TORNAMAGNO Marche IGT
Description: Ruby red with garnet tinges, intense and persistent bouquet reminiscent of rose and violet. The flavour is dry, velvety and harmonious with a slightly bitter tang. The Colonnara Cooperative in Cupramontana was established in 1959 and has now 183 small growers owning nearly 300 hectares. Apart from a high tech approach to vinification, production is characterised by an effectively “organic” approach to viticulture, using minimal treatments and only natural fertilisers. Verdicchio is unjustly unfashionable in the U.K. At its best, as in Cuprese – a selection from low yielding 20 year old vines – it can be a wine of real personality. The characteristic salty tang of the Verdicchio grape is supported by a positive, ripe, soft texture that develops well with bottle age (6 x 75 cl) Price: £65.88

La Cave De Morgex et De La Salle CHAUDE LUNE VINDE GLACE Vallee D'Aosta
Description: The region of Valle d'Aosta has an ancient history of winemaking, even though the steep mountain slopes and harsh, cold climate might suggest otherwise. Historically however, wine production from the region was confined to individual 'backyard vineyards' of usually no more than 2,500 square meters. In 1983, thanks in part to the efforts of the region's local government, these efforts were officially acknowledged and the Cooperative estate, Cave du Vin Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle, was born. This cooperative took control of its newly built winery, well-equipped with all the technology needed to produce high-quality fine wines and began producing the region's traditional wine varieties. The local growers of the co-op are for the most part retired persons who tend their vines as they would a garden, following specific guidelines set up by the cooperative itself. Today the Cave du Vin Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle produces over 140,000 bottles annually of 5 different traditional Valle D'Aosta wines. This unfailing commitment to the Valle D'Aosta wine-making has literally saved the region's history and culture from extinction, making these beautiful wines, and a part of Valle D'Aosta's culture. Available in 50 cl bottles. (12 x 50 cl) Price: £228.72

Colonnara CUPRESE Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore DOC
Description: A bright straw yellow Verdicchio with greenish reflections when young it will develop towards a golden colour with age. Showing a bouquet of intense fruit it has scents of yellow apple, pineapple, yellow plum and almond, while elegant floral notes of acacia and broom are also evident. A well structured wine that is balanced and fresh gives way to final notes of pleasantly bitter sapidity. This is the story of a heart-felt passion for vine cultivation. This is the result of the constant daily effort and dedication of people who have firmly believed in their work for over 40 years. Thanks to the initiative of 19 farmers, Colonnara was founded in Cupramontana in 1959. The ideal microclimate of the sweet hills of the Marches region lead to the cultivation of Verdicchio, which has become the pride of this territory over the centuries. This company has grown over time. Today it has over 190 associates and thanks to the use of innovative technology and the practice of environmentally friendly farming, it has managed to develop a production range that may be singled out among high quality wines.
