Only the very best grapes are used in both varieties; Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère. These wines are aged in French oak barrels for 18 months and rested in our private cellars until their release. Both Cabernet Sauvignon 2001 and 2002 were selected Premium Wine of the Year in the prestigious Chilean wine guide, La Guia de Vinos de Chile 2004 and 2005 editions. Intensely deep-red colour with violet-coloured tints. A complex and alluring bouquet with berries and a slight hint of smoke and violets. Description: Established in 1937 Caves do Solar de Sao Domingos has been run since 1970 by Lopo de Sousa Freitas. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are harvested manually at their most ripe and carefully taken to the winery. The grapes are then partially de-stalked and put in stainless steel tanks separately before being aged in French Oak barrels for 6 months. A Ruby Red Cabernet Sauvignon with fine aromas of fruit that lead onto the pallet in this well structured wine. (6 x 75 cl)
