Babich WINEMAKER'S RESERVE Gewurztraminer Hawke's Bay NZ
Description: Overview: A perfect ripening period from February through March coupled with the free draining shingle soils of our Gimblett Road vineyard, delivered clean and deliciously perfumed fruit. Tasting Notes: A perfumed nose redolent with rose and lychee, leads on to a richly flavoured spicy palate. The pure fruit flavour and a good acid/sugar balance give an off-dry feel and contribute to the lingering finish. Production Notes: The fruit was hand picked on the 17th March at 23 brix and crushed. After a period of skin contact for flavour extraction, the fruit was pressed and the juice fermented in stainless steel using a variety of yeasts and ferment temperatures. The wine was then allowed to develop for several months prior to bottling. Grapes: 100% Gewürztraminer Recommended Cellaring: 0-5 years (6 x 75 cl)
