Warre's TRADITIONAL Late Bottled Vintage Port
Description: Warre's is one of the only Port companies always to have made a late bottled vintage in the original way. Today this tradition continues. Carefully selected from the finest wines of a very good year, this port is aged in oak casks for 4 years before being bottled without fining or filtration. This ensures that, as with Vintage Port, the fruit concentration is retained. Once bottled, Warre's Traditional Late Bottled Vintage Port is left to mature for a further 5 years in Warre's own cellars before being offered for sale. It is this prolonged ageing in its own bottle that gives this particular LBV so much outstanding style and complexity. 1992, 1990 and the vintages that preceded them have continued to make their mark on the trade, being awarded no less than 5 gold medals in 8 years by the International Wine Challenge. A true reflection of the quality and style of Warre's bottle matured LBV. (6 x 75 cl)

Quinta Do Tedo Late Bottled Vintage Port
Description: A rich vibrant flavour of ripe fruit is scented with hints of wild rock rose. The flavours of fruit preserves give way to a long, chocolaty aftertaste. Late Bottled Vintage Porto is considered to be but half a step away from Vintage Porto. It is made as a separate Porto style. As with Vintage Porto, the grapes come from one harvest, but this wine is aged in wood longer, up to 6 years. Small oak barrels accelerate aeration and allow the wine to mature into a Porto ready to drink immediately after bottling. LBVs do not necessarily need to age in the bottle. In 1992, Vincent Bouchard and his wife Kay Steffey Bouchard saw their dream of owning a winery become a reality. They purchased and began to restore the 250 year old, 34 acre, Quinta do Tedo estate located on the Douro River in Portugal. With great vision, passion and infinite energy, Vincent and Kay continue to revitalize their property and year after year they produce award winning Vintage Portos. Vincent was raised at the Burgundian estate of Bouchard Pere et Fils where his grandfather taught him how to create a wine from the soil in the vineyard all the way to the bottled product. Vincent's success in making balanced and vibrant Portos has a lot to do with his adherence to his grandfather's sage advice of respecting the fruit, its flavour, aroma, sweetness and delicacy. His Portos are all made from the finest quality grapes, selected by himself and his enologist Jorge Alves and controlled by the Instituto do Vinho do Porto. (12 x 75 cl)

Balnaves of Coonawarra SPARKLING NV Cabernet Sauvignon South Australia
Description: Rich and complex with blackcurrant, blackberry and sweet earth mature Coonawarra Cabernet characters, this wine is ready to drink on release, however it will gain complexity and softness with careful cellaring. Drink very cold during summer as a refreshing start to any meal. Produced by Balnaves since 1992 this wine is made in the traditional style of Australian Sparkling Burgundies although most of these are made with Shiraz. Balnaves have chosen Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to make this modern sparkling burgundy as we believe Cabernet Sauvignon, of all the grapes grown in Coonawarra, shows the most character and consistency. The base blend was put together and matured in well seasoned French oak for 12 months and then tiraged in July . The wine was again matured in bottles on yeast lees for 19 months to gain softness and complexity followed by disgorging in February . Mature vintage port and concentrated grape juice was used to sweeten the final wine, . (6 x 75 cl)

Torbreck RUN RIG Shiraz Viognier Barossa Valley
Description: David Powell discovered some land in 1992 that had old Shiraz vines growing on it that were almost dead. After nursing them back to health he secured a contract to supply the grapes to a local grower. After realising that this hobby could be made into a business he decided to go full time. In 1994 he founded the company and named it Torbreck after a forrest in Scotland where he had worked as a lumberjack. Torbreck's flagship wine, RunRig is named after the Scottish Highland clans system to distribute land amongst its clansmen in a series of widely dispersed holdings or 'Runrig'. Great care is taken from the vineyard where the vines are over 100 years old to the winery, where the Shiraz cuvee spends 30 months in 60 percent new French Oak . The 3 percent estate grown Viognier is also fermented and aged for 6 months in barrel and then added to the blend just prior to bottling. This is a structured, muscular Shiraz blended with a little Viognier that is showing phenomenal density, dry vintage port-like concentration, and magnificent notes of smoke, blackberries, cassis, leather and coffee. A hint of viognier's sweet marmalade character comes through as the wine sits in the glass. Limited Availability. (6 x 75 cl)
