Wirra Wirra The Angelus, a wine that has built a reputation for classic Australian cabernet sauvignon on the back of the best McLaren Vale and Coonawarra fruit available since 1989, is being exported under the name of Dead Ringer. Its name is taken from the 3/4 tonne Angelus bell at Wirra Wirra that is rung to celebrate the commencement of each McLaren Vale vintage. The Angelus has been well reviewed across Australia and the globe, with the current 2001 vintage receiving high praise from leading wine writers. This wonderfully ripe aromatic Cabernet varietal wine is dense cherry/garnet in colour. Complex, lingering, ripe berry fruits with excellent length and balance. The wine has the intensity of fruit associated with McLaren Vale Cabernet, integrated with the cooler climate minty characters and firm tannins derived from the Coonwarra component. The wine will develop and mature over a number of years, but very able to be enjoyed in it's youth. Serve at room temperature, less than 18c with full flavoured foods especially robust dishes like oxtail stew, almost all red meats, game and strong cheeses. (6 x 75 cl)

Jackson Wine Estates STONESTREET Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley California
Description: J. Stonestreet & Sons Vineyard & Winery began in the autumn of 1989 when Jess Jackson purchased a small vineyard and winery in the rolling hills bordering southern Alexander Valley. He named the winery in honor of his late father, Jess Stonestreet Jackson, and dedicated it to the task of handcrafting wines using traditional methods while showcasing modern techniques. Stonestreet quickly garnered international acclaim for powerful red and luscious white wines. Following this early success, Jess Jackson acquired the nearby Alexander Mountain Estate in 1995 and focused Stonestreet on mountain wines, particularly the Bordeaux varietals of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, in addition to small amounts of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc from older vineyards on the mountain. Retaining the intense mountain flavours and colour from mountain fruit demands special care. A pre-fermentation cold-soak extracted fruit flavours while minimising tannin extraction. Separate lots were then fermented at warm temperatures with either native or cultured yeast for a total of about three weeks total skin contact time. Ageing was done in thin-stave French oak barrels, coopered to Stonestreet's specifications. This served to further integrate tannins and fruit while maintaining a balanced structure. A regimen of quarterly racking with light aeration and egg white fining naturally clarified the wine and further developed the nuanced complexity and supple tannins. This wine is well-balanced with a particularly lush mid-palate and dark ruby-purple colour. An elegant structure supports layers of spicy blackberry/cassis fruit along with hints of chocolate and coffee. (12 x 75 cl)

Description: Established in 1893 Leasingham Wines has been an integral part of the Clare Valley for over 100 years. Today,Leasingham 's 300 hectares of vineyards, located to the north and south of Clare, provide the premium fruit, which, along with the winemaking commitment and expertise, enable Leasingham to produce outstanding, award winning, regional wines. De Neuville Cabernet Sauvignon Vin de Pays du Jardin de la France

Today, De Neuville aims to satisfy the most demanding customers, namely restaurants and their sommeliers who wish to enhance their wine list thanks to a selection of remarkable Loire wines. Montes ALPHA 'M' Colchagua Valley Chile
Description: The slopes of Apalta in Colchagua enclose a half-moon shaped area with a unique micro-climate, defined by the mountains and one of Chile's widest rivers, the Tinguiririca. The best slopes in this valley, with a 15% average inclination, are found on our property where we grow the grapes for Montes Alpha "M". Having a west-south-west exposure allows for exactly the right number of hours of sunlight and provides us with an ocean breeze . The very warm days but cool winds at night, with their lowering temperatures, give a micro-climate particularly suited for growing red grape varieties. Add to this, the poor soils with little organic matter, drip irrigation, and the high density of vines make growing conditions just right. Montes Alpha "M" is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon , Merlot and Cabernet Franc which enhances the elegance of the first variety, and is in total harmony with the softness of the second and austerity of the third. The wine is an intense multi-hued ruby red with an aroma redolent of berries. The red fruit with notes of black pepper and spices blends harmoniously when aged one year in French oak barriques that contribute subtle vanilla tones. On the palate, it is perfectly balanced, full-bodied and superbly voluptuous on the mid-palate with a rewarding, lingering aftertaste of mature grapes and acidity that reflects its superb structure. Although young, Montes Alpha "M" can be enjoyed now or cellared for several years . We recommend serving this wine with lamb chops, roast lamb, lamb casserole, steak and kidney in all its forms, roast goose or roast turkey, also beef Bourguignonne, roast venison, rabbit, boar. If you are a vegetarian, it will go extremely well with vegetable lasagne. (6 x 75 cl)

Chateau d'Aussieres AUSSIERES Rouge Vin de Pays de Languedoc
Description: Owner of Chateau Lafite Rothschild for five generations, the Rothschild family has been based in this Bordeaux vineyard since 1868. High values and respect of traditional methods make them passionate about harmony and excellence in the wines they produce. Their wines are a witness to that passion year after year and their skills have patiently enriched the wines through the generations, with world-renowned success. Domain Baron de Rothschild skills have served other exceptional Bordeaux wines and vineyards, which share the same values of humility and high standards. Over the years, Domain Baron de Rothschild has expanded its offerings through the acquisition of Chateau Duhart-Milon, 4th growth wine from Pauillac, of Chateau Rieussec, 1er growth Sauternes wines, of Chateau l'Evangile in Pomerol, of Chateau Paradis Casseuil in Entre-Deux-Mers and of Chateau Peyre-Lebade, Bordeaux wines in Haut Medoc. Recently, Domain Baron de Rothschild, in 1999, purchased Chateau d'Aussieres. Aussieres Red is a marriage of Languedoc and Bordeaux varietals, brought together in varied proportions depending on the vintage. The density and elegance of the Cabernets and Merlot are associated with the strength of the Syrah and, sometimes depending on vintage, the character of the Mourvedre. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah and Mourvedre has produced a lovely intense dark red coloured wine. Showing a very open, expressive nose with a complexity of aromas, from each grape variety, melds together with notes of cedar wood, cherries and spices. Full and supple on the front palate, with lots of fresh fruit flavours this wine is backed up with fine, ripe tannins giving way to a lengthy finish that shows the characteristic elegance of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Bodega Valdemar FINCA VALPIEDRA Rioja Reserva
Description: In 1889 Joaquin Martinez Bujanda vinified his first wines in a small building in Oyon and so began the Martinez Bujanda winery. Today, this building has been restored and houses a wine museum which serves as a testimony to the history of this family. This wine is produced from an exceptional single vineyard of 80 hectares situated on the banks of the River Ebro in La Rioja Alta. This vineyard is not only exceptional for its size , but also for the high quality of the grapes produced. Having owned this vineyard for 27 years and being fully aware of the exceptional quality of the grapes it produced, the Martinez Bujanda family made the decision to build a bodega in the vineyard itself. This avoided transporting the grapes and vinification now takes place at the estate itself. Here the grapes are pressed within minutes of having been cut improving the quality of the wines further. The aim of Martinez Bujanda is to produce a wine from one single vineyard with the aim of achieving the maximum potential from this vineyard each year. A blend of 90% Tempranillo, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Mazuelo and Graciano, this wine has spent 18 months in new oak-tree barrels, 85% French as well as 15% American. This has produced a wine that is dense red almost cherry coloured wine. Clean and pleasant aromas resembling dark and balsamic fruits are well-formed with hints of oak from the 18 months spent in barrel. In mouth, it is savoury, well-balanced, with noble and sweet tannins, which give it a round and fine quality, while the aftertaste is long and smooth. (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau Duhart Milon MOULIN de DUHART Pauillac
Description: Owner of Chateau Lafite Rothschild for five generations, the Rothschild family has been based in this Bordeaux vineyard since 1868. High values and the respect of traditional methods make them passionate about harmony and excellence. Their wines bear witness to that passion year after year and their skills have patiently enriched the wines through the generations, with world-renowned success. Domain Baron de Rothschild skills have served other exceptional Bordeaux wines and vineyards, which share the same values of humility and high standards. Over the years, Domain Baron de Rothschild has expanded its offerings through the acquisition of Chateau Duhart-Milon, 4th growth wine from Pauillac, of Chateau Rieussec, 1er growth Sauternes wines, of Chateau l'Evangile in Pomerol, of Château Paradis Casseuil in Entre-Deux-Mers and of Château Peyre-Lebade, Bordeaux wines in Haut Medoc. Recently, Domain Baron de Rothschild in 1999 purchased Chateau d'Aussieres. Moulin de Hart is Chateau Duhart-Milon's second wine, and it is selected from vats of the 'Grand Vin'. The origin of the name comes from the former presence of a windmill on the Carruades, next to the Duhart-Milon vineyard. In general, the grapes are selected from the youngest part of the vineyard. Moulin de Duhart has several characteristics similar to the fine wine, but with a lesser potential for ageing as its ageing in barrels is much shorter. Therefore it best consumed younger than its more robust counterpart. This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 55 to 60% and Merlot 40 to 45%, spending 10 months in two year old oak barrels and that has produced a powerful and fruity wine. The structure is deep with firm tannins while it has great persistency with a lot of elegance. (6 x 75 cl)
