Domaine du Tariquet Ugni Blanc/Colombard Vins de Pays des Cotes de Gascogne
Description: For the past 20 years the Grassa family have been putting Vin de Pays des Cotes de Gascogne on the viticultural map and have established a worldwide reputation for their various Domaines, from Gold medal after Gold medal in international competitions to the world's leading wine writers citing Yves Grassa as one of the world's most dynamic and innovative winemakers. Indeed, back in 1989 the Domaine du Tariquet Ugni Blanc/Colombard won White Wine of the Year at the International Wine Challenge . DomaineTariquet is the property where Yves Grassa lives on the family estate and it is here that he tends his most precious vines. The style of winemaking is always one of freshness, elegance and finesse and the DomaineTariquet range is no exception. Yves is passionate about his winemaking and as a perfectionist is constantly looking at ways of improving what most people agree is a faultless operation, even to the point that he sleeps on a camp bed between the vats during vinification, just in case a minor adjustment needs to be made to the temperature! The "entry level" Ugni Blanc/Colombard is fresh and zesty, with bags of melon and peach fruit and incredible finish, while the Sauvignon makes many a Sancerre producer blush. His Chardonnay is fermented and matured in 3 different types of wood and yeasts from California, Australia and Burgundy are used. The Chardonnay/Sauvignon is a rare animal indeed (12 x 75 cl) Price: £87.40

Domaine Mathis Bastian DOMAINE ET TRADITION Pinot Gris Luxembourg
Description: Luxembourg has a long tradition of making wine . Virtually all production is for white and sparkling, the major grape varieties being: Rivaner, Pinot Blanc, Auxerrois, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer. The climate is one of the coolest in Europe for winemaking even rivalling England. Domaine Mathis Bastian, a regular visitor to the Guide Hachette comprises 11.7 hectares of vines on chalky soil located on the exposed slopes of Remich Primerberg overlooking the Moselle. Domaine et Tradition has finesse illustrated by the manner in which the wine evolves so eloquently in the glass from the initial nose of meadow flowers broadening into something earthier: medlars and truffles, finally reenforced by the burgeoning of the secondary mineral aromas. Domaine de Vauroux Chablis Vielle Vignes
Description: Domaine de Vauroux was created in 1956 by the Tricon family. In 1972 they started farming the first grapevines. Throughout its evolution the Domaine has successfully combined modern and traditional approaches, particularly in relation to its winemaking practices. Apart from their know-how and their traditions, the estate's forebears have passed on to Domaine de Vauroux one of the oldest winegrower's huts in the region which dates from the 17th century. This vineyard is today over 30 hectares. This wine is made up of 30 years old grapevines. The grapes, which are harvested when full ripe, give the wine a very strong and complex bouquet. With the passage of the time, the honey and acacia aromas, which characterize the wine when it is young, will fade in favour of fragrances of dried fruits and hazelnut. (6 x 75 cl) Price: £100.91
