A rich, sweet and concentrated wine made in a clean, modern style but showing an impressive complexity. Description: Chateau de Campuget, which belongs to the Dalle family since 1941, is producing great A.O.C. Costieres de Nimes wines. The vineyard of 160 hectares is situated in the heart of the A.O.C. area, between Nimes and Arles, a few kilometres from the right side of the Rhone river. The main characteristic of the 'terroir' is its soil , formed by an accumulation of round stones that had been rolled by many overflows of the Rhone river during the quaternary era. It allows the grapevines to establish their roots deep enough to find the water they need for growing. At the same time they profit of the sunny Mediterranean climate, essential for the good maturation of the grapes. Although equipped with stainless-steel tanks and modern tools, Chateau Campuget wines are made and matured in a traditional way. From its own bottling-line to the air-conditioned warehouse, it can control the quality of the wines from the vineyard to the bottle. This wine is a blend of Syrah , Grenache noir and Mourvedre , it is a garnet-red colouredwine with a blue hue. Its scent of ripe fruit is dominated by blackcurrents underlined with hints of spices and pepper. In the mouth it is round, harmonious, full-bodied and fruity with a spicy finish. Description: Querciabella, founded in 1974 began life as a 1 hectare vineyard but today has 26 hectares of vines producing great wine with an international reputation. Concentrating on small yields where the emphasis is placed on concentration and richness of the fruit, the vineyard is run according to biodynamic priciples that exceed the European Standard.. Querciabella is a Chianti Classico DOCG that presently produces four wines from the vineyards of its Chianti Classico estate in Greve in Chianti. Batar is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc; Chianti Classico; Camartina a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon while Palafreno, a new release, is a blend of Merlot and Sangiovese. Great care is taken from the vineyard to the winery when producing this wine as the grapes are carefully selected in the vineyards, hand harvested and put into 8 kilo crates. Then the grapes are destemmed, but not crushed, and the very best parcels are conveyed into temperature controlled stainless steel vats. After fermentation the wine is transferred to barriques, here the different cepages undergo separate elevage for one year. At this stage, the best lots, selected through extensive tasting and assembled into the final blend, where they undergo another year of elevage. Finally, the wine is aged in French Oak that comes from Allier, Nevers, and Troncais using 80% new and 20% one year old barrels. The wine is regularly racked and tasted during the whole barrel maturation and after bottling the wine rests for about six months before release . A Ruby red Super Tuscan, this wine is blend of 50% Sangiovese; 45% Cabernet Sauvignon as well as a little Merlot and Syrah. This wine is dominated by dark forrest fruit including black and blue berry aromas that develop on the full flavoured palate. Showing good tannin and balance the weighty finish is both long and sophisticated. (6 x 75 cl) Price: £264.98

Description: This wine is typically bright, fresh and fruit-driven. Ruby-red in colour with purple hints, there are floral notes and red berry fruits on the nose. Dominique Morel has 12 hectares of vineyard in Beaujolais and the average age of his vines is 70 years, something that accounts for the intensity of his wines with an average yield of 55 hl/ha.
