Montana ORMOND ESTATE Chardonnay Gisborne NZ
Description: Light gold in colour with distinctive ripe chardonnay fruit characters which are predominantly rich and full. Tropical fruit aromas are complemented with toasted vanilla oak characters. On the palate the full and rich fruit flavours are balanced by a good acidity, creamy character and toasty oak flavour resulting in a complex wine with great length and elegance. A portion of grapes are whole bunch pressed and the most delicate juice extracted to create the backbone of the wine. The remainder are crushed and given a period of skin contact in order to extract the fruity flavours from the small Mendoza clone berries. These components are fermented separately in predominantly new French oak barriques and stirred on the lees to enrich the final wine. A portion undergoes malolactic fermentation to add complexity and richness. After nine months in barrels the wine is bottled for further ageing in temperature controlled cellars. The Ormond Estate has a long ripening season giving optimum quality grapes. (6 x 75 cl)

Kingston Estate ESTATE Chardonnay South Eastern Australia
Description: Light straw in colour with a slight green tinge, the Kingston Chardonnay displays some exciting peach, citrus and lemon influences on the nose. The palate is exceptional with balance being the key.Hints of peach and tropical fruit flavours are lifted by some exciting lemon myrtle flavours. The use of some slight French oak influence has further enhanced this wine adding a degree of complexity. In the quest for fruit selection we opted for those vineyards we believe practice best canopy, drip irrigation and vineyard management. We found these sites in the sun drenched areas of the Riverland and Sunraysia growing regions. Making sure these berries were picked at their optimum levels, night harvesting was employed at approximately 13 ºto 14 ºBaume thus avoiding any likelihood of any phenolic hardness. Small batch fermenting in static fermenters with a neutral yeast has enabled full fruit flavours to develop.Avoiding any further malolactic fermentation we have produced a truly fruit driven style of wine with only a hint of French oak treatment. Jackson Wine Estates LA CREMA Pinot Noir Anderson Valley California
Description: Part of Jackson Wine Estates, La Crema winery was founded in 1979 and quickly established itself as a pioneer for intensely flavoured Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. This wine is from the Anderson Valley known for sloping hillside benches thta are blanketed by cool fog from the nearby Pacific Ocean during the heat of the summer growing season. These moderating conditions are ideal in cultivating Pinot Noir with naturally bright acidity and delicate red cherry and cranberry fruit aromas. The Anderson Valley is Mendocino’s premier growing region for Pinot Noir and this wine used the Dijon, heirloom Martini and Pommard clones to enhance the aroma and complexity. In the vineyard fruit-thinning is undertaken to remove late flowering clusters ensuring even ripening throughout the vineyards. Next the fruit is handpicked from the cool climate vineyards and delivered to the winery in small half ton bins to protect the integrity of the fruit. Once in the winery the Pinot Noir grapes are put on to a belt delivery system with sorting table to purge damaged fruit. Here only 70% of the whole berries are selected before fermentation takes place for greater fruit expression. Next a five day, 48 degree cold soak is completed before fermentation so that it enhances the silky tannin texture. Open top fermentation with cap punch downs four times daily extracts precise colour before the wine is aged 10 months in 100% French oak barrels refines the finish. Finally the Pinot Noir is bottled unfiltered and unfined to express the pure character of this great varietal. Winemaker Melissa Stackhouse had the following comments to make about this wine: 'Exotic aromas are delicate and floral with a hint of blueberry and herbal black tea. The flavours are focused on lush dark red cherry fruit which provides an enticing plush texture. Bright acidity accented by cranberry and red cherries create a seductive fruit entry that leads to a broad lingering finish.' (6 x 75 cl)

Jackson Wine Estates STONESTREET Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley California
Description: J. Stonestreet & Sons Vineyard & Winery began in the autumn of 1989 when Jess Jackson purchased a small vineyard and winery in the rolling hills bordering southern Alexander Valley. He named the winery in honor of his late father, Jess Stonestreet Jackson, and dedicated it to the task of handcrafting wines using traditional methods while showcasing modern techniques. Stonestreet quickly garnered international acclaim for powerful red and luscious white wines. Following this early success, Jess Jackson acquired the nearby Alexander Mountain Estate in 1995 and focused Stonestreet on mountain wines, particularly the Bordeaux varietals of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, in addition to small amounts of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc from older vineyards on the mountain. Christopher’s Cabernet Sauvignon illustrates the colour and flavour intensity of Alexander Mountain Estate fruit. Vineyards for this Christopher’s Cabernet Sauvignon are 2,400 feet above sea level. Lean, rocky, and well-draining soil and cooler temperatures have lower yields and produce smaller grape clusters and berries. This smaller fruit contains deep, vivid color and rich, rewarding flavour. The resulting wine is deep and concentrated displaying rich varietal characteristics of dark berry and cassis with hints of spice and chocolate on the nose. (6 x 75 cl)

Bremerton RACY ROSE Shiraz Cabernet Langhorne Creek South Australia
Description: The Bremerton story began in 1985 when Craig and Mignonne Willson purchased the property and established a long term restoration and development plan. The winery was established in 1988 and now has 110 acres planted at Langhorne Creek and is joint owner and manager of another 180 acres from which it selects the best fruit each year for its wines. Best quality practices ensure best quality grapes and the Bremerton vineyards predominantly grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot, with small plantings of Sauvignon Blanc, Verdelho, Chardonnay, Malbec and Petit Verdot. The winemaking team headed by family member and winemaker Rebecca Willson has taken the quality of the wines to new standards. Rebecca seeks the best possible fruit from the Bremerton Estate and other specialised Langhorne Creek vineyards to craft traditional, full bodied, full flavoured, mouth filling Langhorne Creek wines that show a consistency of style whilst encouraging the true varietal grape characteristics to be expressed. The winery has invested heavily in a premium French & Amercian oak program using 220 litre barriques to ensure subtle and complementary oak influences. The winery utilises tradtional open top fermenters, made from stainless steel and a purpose built barrel cellar for maturation. New laboratory and tasting facilities have also been added to the winery. The best parcels of Shiraz had some of their juice drained off when the extraction colour was perfect, the juice was then cooled, settled and racked. A yeast was chosen that would enhance the natural characters of the berry and the ferment was treated just like a delicate white. The wine was then stabilised, filtered and bottled. This is the third vintage of Racy Rose, produced from 100% estate grown fruit. The philosophy behind this rose is to produce a wine that is easy drinking. The colour is bright and vibrant with a nose that shows wonderfully lifted crushed strawberry and watermelon characteristics. As the name suggests the palate is vibrant and racy with sweet cherry while the finish is dryer than most rose's, flavorsome and refreshing. (12 x 75 cl)

Estancia Pinot Noir Monterey California
Description: Roughly translated from the Spanish word for 'estate' Estancia's name emphasizes the founder's conviction that the world's best wines capture the essence of their place of origin. In 1986, Estancia purchased the former Paul Mason vineyard ranches in the Monterey town of Soledad to established it as the home of Estancia Winery and of cool climate varietals. The 1,200-acre Vineyard is situated on a frost-free benchland above Salinas Valley on California's Central Coast, in the Monterey town of Soledad. Cooled by morning and evening fog but far enough away from Monterey Bay to get a good daily dose of sun. The site is ideal for producing cooler climate varietals like Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay, due to the Sandy, naturally parched soil that produces bright and concentrated flavours that are reflected so well in this wine. Today, Estancia's winemakers strive to combine the best of both worlds- a state of the art winemaking facility, and a traditional, hands-on approach to each grape they produce. In the end, this combination of technology and tradition allows Estancia to deliver the hand-crafted quality for which these wines are known. While the cutting-edge facilities enable Estancia to take advantage of the beneficial advances in winemaking technology. Finally, Estancia's commitment to old world processes results in the complexity and elegance found in artisanal and boutique wines. This 100% Pinot Noir is aged 10 months in 35% New french Oak barrels. This has produced a red coloured wine with purple edges and a rich aroma of ripe dark cherries and wild red berries with hints of spicy cola and soft oak. The dark berry fruit aromas are also evident on the palate of this opulent wine with rich and elegant tannins as well as bright acidity that culminate in a lingering finish.
