Description:
The winemakers aim to refine and develop a sweet, late-picked botrytis Semillon. Not one which is cloying, heavy and an over-powering sweet "blockbuster" of a wine. The hallmark of the Peter Lehmann Botrytis Semillon is a sweet wine of amazing freshness, wonderful flavour and tantalising complexity. Fruit Source: Selected Barossa Valley vineyards and, for the first time, the Peter Lehmann Wines own Semillon vineyard. Colour: Bright, burnished gold Bouquet: Honeyed citrus characters with notes of botrytis Palate: Delicious white peach and apricot flavours with a beautiful balance between the natural acids and grape sugar. PeterLehmann WILDCARD Shiraz South Australia Description: From Fruit source and selected in South Australian Riverland and Barossa Vineyards this shiraz has a bright deep red colour with a purple rim. The bouquet has a lovely plum fruit with leafy notes while the palate has a beautifully soft, fruit driven style showing typical shiraz richness reined in by the soft tannin finish. The PeterLehmann winemakers have identified Shiraz vineyards which will give grapes of the quality they seek. Working closely with selected growers, yields are monitored and harvest only occurs when the grapes are at optimum maturity. The Reserve Semillon is made from the very best Semillon of the vintage. When young, the Reserve Semillons are delicate and stylish with steely acidity. They mature slowly in the bottle, developing characteristic honey on the palate while still retaining their tight, firm, reserved structure. Colour: Attractive bright green gold Bouquet: Rich lifted nose showing classic lemon flower, bees wax and lanolin. Palate: Medium bodied taut palate showing honeyed development.
