Pio Cesare ORNATO Barolo DOCG Piemonte
Description: Ornato is a more modern in style than Pio Cesare traditional Barolo, but still true to its roots. The Barolo Ornato is a big Barolo, deep, round and austere, with a remarkably long life, yet approachable in its youth while the colour is intense and deep, almost impenetrable. The palate is deep and rich, showing good structure, with a long finish. Ornato is the name of the estate vineyard in Serralunga d'Alba. From the grapes of this estate, Pio Cesare have always produced traditional Barolo, but in 1985 they decided to select a small quantity of Nebbiolo from two vines to create a Barolo that reflects the marvellous characteristics of the Serralunga soil. The first Barolo Ornato was produced in 1985. Since then, it is only produced in outstanding years. (6 x 75 cl) Price: £283.53

Marchesi di Barolo Barbera d'Alba DOC Ruvei
Description: Marchesi di Barolo has been producing the finest Piedmontese DOC and DOCG wines for more than 100 years. Historically they are known for producing the first Barolos, made from Nebbiolo grapes and the finest Crus from the Cannubi area. Vines situated in the finest positions of the zone of origin provide the grapes for the production of this Barbera. A fresh and fruity aroma with clear scents of vanilla and roasted hazelnuts. This wine has a warm and robust nature which develops a complexity after maturation of six to twelve months in small barrels of toasted French oak. It is then refined in the bottle. It can age for up to five years. Serve at room temperature. (12 x 75 cl) Price: £150.64
