Biondi Santi SCHIDIONE IGT Toscana
Description: Ruby red colour, dry, assertive and tannic flavour. It has an intense, ample and persistent aroma and a complex bouquet. Ferruccio Biondi Santi first isolated the Brunello clone of Sangiovese in the late 19th C. and he and his successors created a wine capable of extraordinary ageing. Today, the concept of a Brunello Riserva that needs nigh on a quarter of a century to show its true class may seem an anachronism. We prefer to salute Biondi Santi as a monument to tradition and uncompromising quality. (6 x 75 cl) Price: £411.02

Poggio Antico MADRE Toscana IGT
Description: Poggio Antico is located in Montalcino, a small town in Tuscany about fifty kilometers south of Siena. The earliest written records of the estate date from the beginning of the 19th century, when the present boundaries were marked. At that time, the estate consisted of woodland, grassland, and three stone houses. The development of Poggio Antico started in the late 1970s, when electricity was brought in, vineyards were planted, and construction of the wine cellar began. The estate was purchased in 1984 by current owners Giancarlo and Nuccia Gloder, originally from Milan, who had fallen in love with the wines of Montalcino and the unique geographical position of Poggio Antico. These are exciting times for Poggio Antico with the release of Madre a brand new 'Supertuscan' red wine produced by Poggio Antico. Its first vintage, 2001, received a very positive reception at the preview presentation at Vinitaly in Verona in April 2003. The name 'Madre' comes from the homonymous property, which has always been part of the Poggio Antico estate. This location is facing south-southwest and it is well protected from the northern winds and consequently from the risk of late frosts. Its position (6 x 75 cl) Price: £172.65
