Le Grand Clos is Le Clos Jordanne's way of expressing the heart of their Estate terroir. This wine is a rare breed exemplifying elegance, character, complexity, longevity and purity at its peak. Deep in colour, stunningly pure, it is rich in sheer fruit extract and density and incredibly long in the mouth. Currently, the wine delivers intense floral overtones entwined with luscious fruit flavours of ripe raspberries and dense black fruit. (6 x 75 cl)

Description: Mineral, earthy nose, concentrated mulberry fruit, intense, serious wine. Seymour Pritchard bought the 10-hectare farm Malvern Heights in 1969 from Colonel JW Billingham, who had named the farm after the rolling hills around Malvern in his native England. When winemaking came into Seymour’s sights in the mid-1980’s France was still at the centre of the wine universe so he 'Frenchised' the name to Clos Malverne. By 1985 Clos Malverne had already been supplying its wine grapes to Stellenbosch Farmers’ Winery for a number of years, when Jeremy Walker, now of Grangehurst fame, suggested to Seymour at a braai that Christmas Eve that they make wine from Clos Malverne’s grapes. So, 800 bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon were made in 1986 and this and the 1987 vintage were so encouraging that Seymour decided to go into winemaking full time. Description: Château Clos Fourtet is a St. Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classé property located just outside the entrance to the town. It is distinguished by its beautiful ivy-covered manor house and some of the most extensive underground cellars in the region. Clos Fourtet has 19 hectares of vineyards planted with Merlot , Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon . The wine is vinified traditionally and is aged in oak barriques for 18 months. It is bottled unfiltered. Clos Fourtet has had several owners over the years and underwent a mini-renaissance under the stewardship of the Lurtons in the latter half of the last century. Pierre Lurton was the winemaker who really established the property`s reputation as one of the finest on the St. Martin plateau.
