Louis Roederer CRISTAL ROSE Vintage Champagne
Description: Mousse: Lively and creamy bubbles forming a persistent, efervescent ring of precious tiny beads. Appearance: Satiny sheen, reflecting the warmth of old Roman tiles aged in the sun. Nose: Intense, generous bouquet with predominant aromas of figs, raspberries and wild strawberries. Palate: The attack is inviting. An immense wine with great finesse. A succession of red fruit flavors lead to a lingering finish. It is soft and fresh, and distinguished by its silky elegance. The cuvÉe Cristal Ros© is produced exclusively from the best grapes of Champagne Louis Roederer's own "Premier Cru" vineyards: A', Verzenay, Verzy and Cumières for the Pinot Noir and Oger and Avize for the Chardonnay. Winemaking Louis Roederer uses the "skin-contact" maceration technique to make its ros© champagnes. It is a traditional method in which the must is left to macerate for several hours in the press to extract the natural pigments. To obtain the unique color and style of this particular ros©, Louis Roederer uses Pinot Noir from very old vines from the Cumières region, which yield extremely ripe grapes of outstanding aromatic concentration. Louis Roederer Ros© requires a four to five year maturation period on the lees. Like all Louis Roederer champagnes, after being disgorged, it is left for another six months to allow for perfect blending. Blend and Dosage 70 percent Pinot Noir, 30 percent Chardonnay A dosage of about four ounces of sugar per quart (3 x 75 cl)
