Delta Vineyard Marlborough SauvignonBlanc NZ
Description: Light, pale lemon yellow in colour, the DeltaSauvignonBlanc has tremendous intensity on the nose, with perfumes of passion fruit and blackcurrants. On the palate, it is clean and fresh, with good balance between elegant, ripe fruit, crisp minerally acidity and a long, perfumed finish. Sheena Gray, wife of winemaker Matt Thomson, bought this 10 hectare site in Marlborough’s Dillon’s Point in 2001. Matt is convinced that the slightly cooler nights in this sub-region produce wines with more aromatic qualities than other areas. Together with Malcolm Adams, a viticulturist with more than 20 years experience, Matt and Sheena have created one of Marlborough’s mosts outstanding vineyards for SauvignonBlanc. The soils have a high mineral content and good drainage due to the sand lying beneath the soil’s surface. The wine is bottled under the Stelvin closure, so that it can be enjoyed free from cork taint and in perfect condition. (12 x 75 cl) Price: £128.84

Delta Vineyard Marlborough Pinot Noir NZ
Description: The Delta Vineyard Marlborough Pinot Noir has deep colour with very strong pinot noir aromatic characters. It has very lifted cherry aromas and violet notes. The palate has a silky start and a grainy, mineral-rich finish. It is juicy, but focussed. The Delta Farm, first established in 1848, was purchased in 2000 by four partners, including winemaker Matt Thomson and David Gleave of Liberty Wines. The Delta Vineyard has 30 hectares of Pinot Noir. It is situated on the West Coast Highway in Marlborough in New Zealand’s South Island. Yields are about 7 tonnes per hectare. Vertical shoot positioning is used to give the vines’ canopy the sunlight it needs, and to give the grapes the degree of exposure they require to ripen. The clay soil, combined with the elevation of the vineyard and the factors that make Marlborough such a successful viticultural region (6 x 75 cl) Price: £74.45

DeltaVineyards HATTERS HILL Pinot Noir Marlborough NZ
Description: Lovely purity and liveliness of fruit. It shows typical black cherry perfume on the nose, with lively yet supple fruit on the palate supported by fine grained tannins. The 40-hectare Delta Vineyard site in Marlborough was bought in 2001 by four partners, amongst whom are winemaker Matt Thomson and UK based wine importer David Gleave MW. It was planted solely with Pinot Noir in 2002 and 2003 and produced its first vintage in 2004. The combination of low vigour clay soils and the best of the new Dijon clones gives us superb fruit, some of the best Pinot I've ever worked with in Marlborough, says Thomson. Sherwood Estate CLEARWATER VINEYARDSSauvignonBlanc Waipara NZ
Description: Sherwood Estate is very much a family business, with Dayne and Jill Sherwood owning and operating it since the late 1980's. The winery is located in the picturesque Waipara Valley, while they have four vineyards also owned by Sherwood Estate in the famed Marlborough Region, at the top of the South Island. Based on nearly twenty years of growing grapes and making wine, Sherwood Estate now specialise in SauvignonBlanc, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling. Sherwood Estate produce three ranges of wines the Clearwater Range, the Sherwood Estate Range and the the Stratum Range. The Clearwater range represents the very best varietal single vineyard wines from Sherwood Estate's own vineyards in Waipara. This is very much a hand crafted range both in the vineyards and winery, here meticulous care is taken to ensure that the wine produced is of the highest quality and reflects each vineyard's unique characteristics or 'terroir'. This SauvignonBlanc is produced from grapes grown on Sherwood Estate's Selmes Road and Hammerichs Road vineyards in Marlborough. After harvest, the grapes went to the winery where the freerun juice portion was selected for barrel fermentation and ageing. Next, the wine spent 10 months on lees prior to blending, fining and bottling. The Clearwater VineyardsSauvignonBlanc displays ripe passionfruit aromas supported by touches of capsicum. The aromas develop on the rich and concentrated palate leading to a long balanced finish. (12 x 75 cl) Price: £133.40
