Domaine Heresztyn Grand Cru Clos Saint Denis
Description: An estate founded by a former Polish vineyard worker of Louis Trapet. Domaine Heresztyn has been one of the consistently fine producers in Gevrey Chambertin. However, as Florence Heresztyn increasingly takes the reins, they have clearly reached another level of quality. Clos Saint-Denis is situated in Morey-Saint-Denis between Clos de la Roche and Clos des Lambrays. The vineyard is planted on Liassic and Triassic limestone, a terrain that allows the roots of the vines to delve deep for mineral nourishment. Heresztyn's wine is delightful; the subtle weaving of fragrances hints at a grand cru with nuance rather than sheer power, a point reinforced by the tender fruity palate, aromatic, pretty, oozing finesse. The tannins, nevertheless, remind you that this is a true vin de garde. (6 x 75 cl)

Domaine Fernand Lecheneaut Morey Saint Denis AC
Description: In the early 1960's, this 22 acre estate was created by Fernand Lecheneaut while he worked for a négociant in Beaune. He took advantage of opportunities to buy parcels of various vineyards, and finally quit the shipper trade when he had acquired enough. Based mainly in the Côte de Nuits, spread through the appellations of Nuit-St-Georges, Morey-St-Denis, Vosne Romanée and Chambolle Musigny, where it is planted with 90% Pinot Noir. In addition the Domaine have a small vineyard in the grand cru Clos de la Roche in Morey-St-Denis. The remaining 10% of grapes produced are evenly divided between Chardonnay and Aligote. Their annual production of 2,500 cases comes in 13 different bottlings and availability is strictly limited. Domaine Fernand Lecheneaut has been run since 1985 by brothers Vincent and Philippe Lecheneaut. The Estate in Nuits St Georges is considered one of the finest in Burgundy and tradition is the by-word for the wines made here. Once harvested the wine spends 18 months in barrique without any fining or filtration. The wines produced are superbly crafted, concentrated yet forward and elegant with well integrated oak. This Pinot Noir is a deep red-ruby colour with aromas of raspberry and coffee. Lush, fat and mouthfilling, with sweet flavours of raspberry, iron and leather this wine has a long finish to complement the work that has gone into it. (6 x 75 cl)
