Maurice Martin established the domaine in 1969 and his son Richard took it over in 1990 and was joined by his brother Stephane in 1992. Internationally renowned for making some of St Veran's finest and most elegant wines, this reputation is down to hard work in the vineyards and minimal intervention in the winemaking process. This wine is from sunniest slope of the 'Roche de Solutre' part of the domaine's 22 hectares of vines, spread over 52 parcels. Treated with the utmost care and respect from the vineyard to the winery this is a well made wine with good balance and fruit. This care has produced a superb quality un-oaked Chardonnay with an upfront fresh nose of citrus, green apples and acacia. The palate is rich and luscious with a persistent long finish. (12 x 75 cl)
