Description:
Cuvée d'Antan is made in 'the old style' from vines on south-facing slopes. Viticulture is biodynamic, grapes are harvested by hand and after pressing and maceration the wine is left in old wooden barrels for eighteen months batonnage. Racking is done after the full moon. The style is sui generis: the wine fills the mouth with layer after layer of creamy fruit, a touch of breadiness from the lees and the terroir notes of truffle and warm stone. (6 x 75 cl)

Description: This Sancerre rouge is created from Pinot Noir vines growing on chalky-clay soils. Vinification begins with fermentation in vats at 26 to 32°c during which time the cap is punched and the must pumped over twice daily in order to extract a maximum of color and tannins from the grape skins. Once the malolactic fermentation is achieved, the wine is matured for 6 to 8 months in Tronçais forest oak barrels . This wine with its characteristic connotations of red fruits is subtly woody. On the palate, it reveals good roundness and a light, pleasant astringency while the tannins are given character not only form he grapes but the oak barrels as well. (6 x 75 cl) Price: £102.23

Description: Chateau Gloria is the creation of a man named Henri Martin, and has no official place in the 1855 classification, because it did not exist at that time. Onetime mayor of St Julien, Henri Martin, during his lifetime managed to acquire the land, bought in small parcels from Cru classes, to replace the vineyard his father had sold. The wines produced by Henri Martin have gained significat recognition and this vintage is a deep garnet almost mahogany colour.
