He succeeded his father in 1982 with an estate of just half a hectare and today has 8 hectares spread through the Condrieu and St Joseph appellations. Recognised as one of the top producers in the area, Andre Perret's wines have that bit of extra concentration. He also somehow manages to combine this concentration with a great deal of finesse as befits a man whose unassuming personality consistently earns the respect of his peers. Two thirds of the production is aged in stainless steel vats and a third in wood for 12 months before release. This has produced a sophisticated pale yellow coloured Viognier. Traditionally produced wine it is made from vines on average 40 years old and spent 18 months in oak barrels.
