Buil & Gine JOAN GINE GINE Priorat DOQ
Description: In the Winter of 1996 the Buil & Gine family decided to return to wine elaboration in the Priorat region. Recently the family was active in the food retail business and, before that, their grand and great-grand parents had been wine makers and merchants. Bringing this tradition back to life, the present generation is dedicated to growing grapes and producing wine in each of the two areas of 'Denominacions d'Origen' of the region, Priorat and Tarragona-Falset. This dream started to materialise during the Spring of 1998 when it introduced its first wine, Gine Gine 1997. The winename consists of the grandfather's two last names who was a wine grower and was twice elected President of the Cooperativa Agricola Falsetenca. This wine is a blend of Garnacha , Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon and has gout de terroir character that comes from the slatey soils of the region. The grapes impart ripe, herbal, savoury character of Garnacha and Carignan, while the subtle oak softens the wine imparting a creamy edge. (12 x 75 cl)
