Gonzalez Byass CABALLERO Amontillado Sherry
Description: Ageing wines from Jerez takes place through the laborious, precise process known as the Criaderas y Solera system. In this process, the younger wines are blended slowly and methodically with other more mature ones. The older wines impart their flavour to the younger ones, while the latter freshen the former due to their youth and strength. The estimated period of ageing is some 4 years. All the grapes are from vineyards owned by Gonzalez Byas in the Jerez Superior zone. This has produced a golden dark hue Sherry and a distinctive aroma with slight old oak notes. The result is a full bodied sherry yet very smooth to the palate. (6 x 75 cl)

Sandeman CLASSIC RANGE Rich Golden Sherry
Description: The Wine Sandeman Rich Golden ages in its own Solera of small oak casks. The wines selected just after the harvest evolve into colours of copper amber and rich gold. With time they develop subtle complexity and round, full bodied characteristics with a wonderful richness. The velvety aftertaste makes this wine a perfect accompaniment to desserts, or on its own served chilled, or on ice, in a wine glass. Tasting Notes Dark copper amber colours, with highlights of old gold. Fresh, subtly complex Oloroso characteristics offset the velvety richness and full body of this wine. It is well balanced, with a very smooth and velvety aftertaste and a clean finish. (6 x 75 cl)

Hidalgo Pale Cream Sherry Sanlucar De Barrameda
Description: A sweet wine with a pale golden colour. This wine has the clean fresh characteristic of a Fino but with the smooth sweetness of the Cream. The Hidalgo family originally came from the north of Spain but moved to the south in the eighteenth century, when King Carlos III was encouraging new people to settle in Andalucia. At first the Hidalgos owned estates in the area, and later 'salinas' for making salt. They then entered the wine trade in 1792 when Jose Pantaleon Hidalgo acquired a sherry business from his father-in-law, thus founding the firm that exists today. Since this time the company has been passed down from father to son and, six generations later remains completely independent and is still owned and run by the Hidalgo family. Today it is one of only a handful of fully independent Sherry producers and the company continues to occupy its original premises in the centre of Sanlucar de Barrameda and has always been one of the most important bodegas in this town. (12 x 75 cl)
