GrantBurgeBAROSSA VINES Shiraz BarossaValley Australia Description: Dark red in colour with a rich ruby hue, this wine exudes complex aromas of raspberries, cherries, stewed fruits and spice with a touch of coffee grounds and tobacco. The palate is rich and luscious showing generous fleshy fruit and spice, with white pepper and well integrated vanillin as well as chocolate oak. The soft tannins and long fruit driven finish are the hallmarks of this enoyable red wine. The fruit was crushed and de-stemmed, then fermented in stainless steel tanks for seven days, with temperatures peaking at 27º C early in the fermentation, then brought down to 22ºC, and pumped over three times a day. Free run and pressings were combined for added colour and structure, the wine was then matured in a combination of American and French oak for 14 months.
