De Loach CALIFORNIA SERIES Chardonnay California
Description: For the 'California' series, DeLoach combine Russian River Valley wines with carefully selected grapes from premier growing regions in California to produce approachable wines. 100% Chardonnay, the wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, then 1/3 of the wine is aged in small French oak barrels for 5 months. The result of great care from the vineyard to the winery is a classic white Chardonnay with aromas of Asian pear and apple. On the palate flavours of caramelised brown sugar, apples and pears are accompanied by a full and creamy mouthfeel. The Russian River Valley has come to be known as 'America's Burgundy,' and DeLoach is proud to have been an important factor in this distinction. Purchased by Boisset in 2003 and the appointment of new winemaker Greg La Follette marked the start of their return to form for DeLoach. (12 x 75 cl)
