Brokenwood Shiraz Hunter Valley Australia
Description: This Hunter Valley Shiraz is showing medium density colour with bright youthful tints. Aromas of mocha, dark chocolate and charry bramble from the oak give way to blackberry as well as savoury Hunter Shiraz fruit. A good restrained alcohol weight carries the rich flavours while the palate has vanillin and dark cherry. The soft tannins and dry finish round out this well made wine. (12 x 75 cl)

Lisa McGuigan Tempus Two PEWTER LABEL Merlot Hunter Valley
Description: Dense Purple Nose Typical Merlot varietal character showing perfumed cherry and tomato bush. Some toffee cinnamon charred oak give additional complexity. Palate A soft full bodied wine with fine grained tannins, fleshy fruit and good persistence. General The vintage in the Hunter Valley is characterised by cool conditions and persistent rain through out the growing season. In early January extremely hot weather stalled the ripening of fruit and it was necessary to slightly dehydrate the fruit on the vine to attain optimum balance. The grapes were machines harvested at night with the fruit being chilled down to 8 degrees into a conventional stainless steel fermentation vessel. The crushed grapes were cold soaked for approximately 5 days when the onset of wild fermentation occurred, at which point a low level of yeast was also added. On completion of fermentation the grapes were pressed via a large Diemme airbag press into another vessel where the wine was allowed to complete both primary and secondary fermentation. The wine was clarified with some going to barrel for maturation and a portion being held in stainless steel. Prior to bottling the wine received a mild fining with egg whites (6 x 75 cl)

Description: On the nose, excellent toast aromas and long lift on the nose. Palate flavours include toast as well as vanillin flavour in the mid to back palate. This wine will develop further with classic aged Hunter Semillon trademarks. A selection from the best vineyards on sandy soil in the Hunter, the wine is fermented in stainless steel, bottled young and then aged in bottle until its release. Established in 1970, Brokenwood Wines has evolved from a weekend venture for self-professed hobby winemakers into one of Australia's most reputable wine labels. (12 x 75 cl)
