Chateau Lamargue Voignier Vin de Pays d'Oc
Description: Chateau Lamargue is one of the most famous and prestigious cellars in the South of France. On a terrain of 117 hectares, the Chateau Lamargue cellar produces a range of ten wines that are divided into A.O.C Costieres de Nimes and Vins de pays d'Oc wines, which correspond to different types of wine and different types of production. Now owned by Campari this estate has undergone significant investment in the vineyards and a new showcase winery equipped with the most advanced winemaking technology. Additionally, Lamargue’s ageing cellars are now replete with all-new French and American oak barriques. A cold maceration on the skins allows for maximum extraction of the grape’s intense aromatic qualities. This is followed by a fast static decantation in order to obtain a very clean must. A slow fermentation on the lees is conducted in new oak barriques at a temperature of around 14°C over several months. All varietal wines produced by the Domaine Lamargue label are estate-grown and bottled. Yields at the property have been reduced to about 3,500 liters per hectare – which translates into approximately one bottle of wine per vine. Consequently, the varietal wines of Domaine Lamargue are deeply colored, intensely fragrant and rich in concentrated flavours. This Viognier is a pale yellow coloured wine with greenish hues. At first the nose is very fruity with aromas of apricot, typical of this variety, while the palate opens with white peach tones. A beautiful lengthy acidity supports the sensations, culminating on a subtle floral note. (6 x 75 cl) Price: £62.36

Dean Hewitson NED & HENRY Shiraz Barossa Valley
Description: The colour of Ned & Henry's Shiraz is deep red with a purple hue. The aroma is distinctively Barossa Valley Shiraz: black and red, ripe fruits with a solid, concentrated core. Matured in only French oak, the fruit is interwoven with pepper, nutmeg and clove. The seamless class of perfectly ripe Shiraz and French oak is a stand-out here. The palate structure of Ned & Henry's delivers in every aspect of the brief. The fruit flavours of Shiraz are full and concentrated yet soft and supple. The tannins are gentle yet persistent and completely mould into the wine. Ned & Henry's Shiraz is most definitely full-bodied: chocolate, blackberry and dark-earth characters. Yet the wine has great balance and poise and carries that signature called 'drinkability'. (12 x 75 cl) Price: £159.47
