Castello Banfi PLACIDO Chianti DOCG
Description: In 1978 John and Harry Mariani, successful American importers, joined forces with Italy's leading enologist, Ezio Rivella; their objective was to produce top-quality wine on a scale never before attempted in Italy. Conte Placido is a member of the Banfi stable of wines and owe their phenomenal popularity to choice grapes grown in some of the world's premier wine regions. The brand inherited its name from a famous Sienese family, the Placidi, on whose vast estate some of the Placido vines grow today. The land was awarded to the family back in the Middle Ages and remained in the possession of its descendants until modern times. Firm dry almost earthy tones typify the bouquet and then ripe rounded berry fruit comes through on the palate. Available in Magnum bottles. (6 x 1.5 Litres)
Price: £95.18
