A bit about KatnookEstate Although the present company was only founded in 1967, the Katnook area had been well known for grape growing since the mid-19th Century, when John Riddoch planted the first Coonawarra vines. In 1980, the arrival of winemaker Wayne Stehbens heralded a new era for Katnook when they began to bottle their own wines for the first time.
